Usual shoe size is 8.5 or 9. I ordered a 9. The shoes look great and the toe box is wide enough for a foot of narrow to average size. The eyelets are punched leather (no metal ring), therefore the laces do not glide easily. The balls of my feet hurt standing in the shoes. I cannot imagine walking in them; therefore, I am returning them. I am also trying two other brands. Hopefully, one of them will work. ... show more

Loved the shoe, but was a size too big. Returning. These run at least a size bigger from your normal size. After more research, the recommendations for the Veja Esplar is to size one size down. I liked the style and quality of the shoes, but found them to be stiff and uncomfortable compared to a different brand. Also, the tongue was so long it was poking into my leg and that didn't feel good. Perhaps after breaking in they'd feel great. I returned them and kept the other brand.
