Usual shoe size is 8.5 or 9. I ordered a 9. The shoes look great and the toe box is wide enough for a foot of narrow to average size. The eyelets are punched leather (no metal ring), therefore the laces do not glide easily. The balls of my feet hurt standing in the shoes. I cannot imagine walking in them; therefore, I am returning them. I am also trying two other brands. Hopefully, one of them will work. ... show more

The shoe come in, and after inspection I notice dimples in the leather, felt more like painted cardboard, very stiff, I worried if I tried to bend the shoe it will break. Also, the shoe come with a stain that was covered with white paint that could be noticed easily. I returned the shoes ,I did not get a good vibe owning them. Loved the shoe, but was a size too big. Returning. These run at least a size bigger from your normal size. After more research, the recommendations for the Veja Esplar is to size one size down.
