By some miraculous feat of genius the paint in this kit manages to be too thick & gloopy whilst at the same time transparent. An easy fix for the thickness is obvious but adding water makes it even more transparent, what to do? I took myself off to Michael's & purchased superior paint brushes as the ones included aren't of sufficient quality for a 5yr old. It helped a little, not much. Now I'm an expert paint-by-numberer, having completed thousands of these things in my childhood, so I speak with serious authority. Frustrated with the lack of "flow" from the paint, I began drawing on my expertise in this & home decorating & decided to "pounce" the paint onto the canvas a la stenciling. I realized I had rediscovered pointilism. It worked, but I think Seurat would have something to say about it, especially as these are Van Gogh's creations. Anyway, long story short; if you want to create a masterpiece to hang in your own hallowed hallways this is not the kit for you. If you have supreme patience, a steady hand, & are willing to fight with the paint then go for it. Considering the price it's good value, but I think the sellers should spring for real paintbrushes & quality control their acrylics. It would be nice if ALL the painting spaces had numbers too, take out some of the guesswork. ... show more

I really enjoyed this set of paint "by numbers" kit (so cheap) They do come folded but i just stretch them out then tape them unto a thick piece of cardboard. It works wonderfully! The paint was of good quality but i did have to add a couple drops of water to the little tubs (no biggie) And amagnifying glass does help (Amazon) The numbers are prominent so i just go over them with a white permanent marker (Amazon) then i can't see them through the paint. Buy this set and have fun..it really helps with stress!๐Ÿ™‚ ... show more

I knew I needed something to fill the day instead of watching TV or sitting reading. Nothing wrong with either but I needed something new. I have always loved Van Goghโ€™s Starry Night so I searched for it and found not only it, but three other paintings I could work on until it was warm and I could be outdoors. The cost was minimal and the four paintings are not easy and require a magnifying glass but interesting way to pass time and not feel the isolation weโ€™ve all suffered since Covid. These are sooooo hard. The numbers are tiny, it takes forever I never even finished it. Iโ€™m sure the pictures are cute but the spots are so small and the paint brushes arenโ€™t very good itโ€™s easy to mess up.
