Would have been better if both faces of shelves were finished, if intending to use where the undersides are visisble. I used some adhesive decorative wall paper to cover the unfinished areas to remove the eyesore, and give them a bit of an accent. The shelf was about $35 so I didn’t expect something nice but it was actually a decent shelf. The assembly was pretty simple. It took about an hour though. It’s more of a decorative shelf than a book shelf, but it can store small novel sized books.

It's a great little shelf, easy to put together (took me maybe 25mins total) It seems pretty sturdy and it shipped fairly quick. My only real complaint is that if it's going to be advertised as "Vertical OR Horizontal" you need to have the color coating on both sides of the panels, that way it's not an eyesore when you have it placed horizontally.... I was planning on placing this on it's side (since it was advertised that it could be) but now I will have to place it upright so its actually pleasing to look at. Aside from that one complaint it's a decent shelf and if you are wanting to place vertically I'd say go for it! ... show more

The instructions were pretty easy to follow, through some of the hardware was difficult to actually screw into place. All it all it ended up very sturdy and super cute. The only thing to be aware of is that this product, once assembled has some sharp corners both on the outside and on the inside edge where the medium compartment meets the small.
