I am an extremely particular person and would have no problem returning a product if it does not measure up, but this product is superb! It arrived with no shipping defects and was fairly easy to assemble. The bookshelves are sturdy; the individual adjustable shelves all fit well; and the units are easy to clean. Overall, the bookshelf is nice looking and it is sturdy. It was easy enough to put together, taking about an hour from opening the box to filling it with books. I'm happy with the purchase and for the 77 dollars (including state tax), I don't think I could find something much better. It is much better than the often flimsy IKEA bookshelfs in the same price range. There are some caveats however. First and foremost there are obnoxious and rather ridiculous stickers on it. There are little round ones indicating which piece is which. That's fine, of course and they come off easily enough. The problem is the larger ones. IF you can pick them off, they they pull the varnish off leaving and ugly mark (see pic 1). I can't understand why this company would use stickers with glue that actually damages the product when the stickers are removed. Quite a mistake on their part to be honest. The child climber warning sticker doesn't come off at all (pic 2). I could probably use soap and water to soften it up, then remove it, but it shouldn't be stuck on there like that in the first place. They need to have easy remove stickers. There are plenty on the market. I covered the ugly marks with books, but still. Secondly, the spaces between the shelves (if you put all 5 shelves in) are quite small, making it impossible to put taller books in it because they would not fit due to the shelf above. This isn't a critique of the product per se. The dimensions are clearly stated and had I thought about it, I could have figured out how much space that would mean for each shelf. I didn't think about it, so I thought it might be a good idea to bring it up if you are considering buying it and you have taller books. I just didn't put one of the shelves in so I got my taller books in there, but that meant I had books left over that I couldn't get in the bookshelf since I was down a shelf. I used these to make “built in” cabinets and they look amazing! Incredibly easy to assemble and the manufacturer includes a dual ended screwdriver (flat/phillips head) which is so thoughtful! These bookshelves are sturdy and an excellent value!

This bookshelf is so beautiful. It wasn't difficult to put together just a bit time-consuming and messy. Not much more so than any other furniture I've assembled, though. I like that this was one compact, as it fits perfectly in the space we need it to. Holds a LOT of stuff, and every shelf is adjustable except for the very middle one. We anchored this to our wall so our toddler can play with the bottom shelves and it won't fall over. The stickers are a little difficult to remove so we just kept a few in there. They're not noticeable. Stability at a four because the back is a flimsy sort of wood, so if we didn't anchor it I feel like it wouldn't have enough weight to keep it from falling over. We also have it on a carpet but a hardwood floor would keep it more stable. ... show more

Obviously you can’t expect too much from a low priced bookshelf but this was still so disappointing. First, the back part of the bookshelf was soo cheaply made and easily chipped - not even sure if it was chipped before we opened it but pieces were pretty much breaking off of it as we were putting it together. And then the shelves were not wide enough.. like come on haha… There’s a gap on both ends when you lay the shelves down. And it’s not just that the shelf maybe was bubbling out - when you compare the shelves to the top and bottom boards, it’s smaller.. so that’s not ideal. But then what was more frustrating, bc I could look past all that.. is the little pegs that are given to be what you use for hanging the shelves hardly stay in and right when I started placing books on it, at least one of the pegs was just falling out - thankfully I saw it otherwise I probably would have books all over the floor right now haha.. the pegs in general aren’t super secure, but I think if the shelves were the full length of the frame, it might’ve worked.. but the combination is terrible unfortunately. I’m not sure what I’m going to do honestly.. Also, it’s just very thin and not deep but I knew that going into it.. UPDATE: I’m increasing my review to a 3-star because while all my original complaints remain true, I’ve managed to have the shelves not collapse and don’t really notice the gapping problem or cheap material when I glance at the bookshelf. So while this product could be much better designed, it does ultimately serve the purpose I was hoping. So, do with that what you will! ... show more
