Ordered a pair from Amazon, saw previous reviews about them being fake so I bought a pair exactly like I ordered while I waited for Amazon's order to arrive. I actually liked the Amazon pair (on right of first pic) a lot more! Done some research and Van's website lists Amazon as an official dealer. On Van's website their pics of the original slip on shows the white inside that is not lined, while the pair from Amazon is black lined and actually softer. Dug a little deeper because I noticed the box from Amazon order says "Asher", which is just a different style but still manufactured by Van's. Was gonna return but thankfully my son wears the same size and will gladly take them 😀 ... show more

    • What can one say about Vans Classic Black/Black (Monochrome) slip-on sneakers other than they are classic and great!
Size: 12.5 Women/11 Men Color: Black/Black
These sneakers are the simply wonderful! OK, there are some sneakers that are better (e.g. Keds Surfer for Men from 1966 to 1972 both CVO and slip-on), but those are only available by dead stock (or used) today. Additionally the Keds Surfer for Men never came in monochrome (e.g. black/black, as Vans calls it). For those looking today at wearing a pair of sneakers (UK: plimsolls) that are either CVO or slip-on, you have a couple of great choices. They are: 1) Vans: Classic Slip-on and Era / #95 2) Converse: Skid Grip and One Deck (CVO and Slip-on) 3) Mens Keds Triumph (CVO and Slip-on) All three are great quality that are both good to your feet and your wallet. OK, the price might be more than no name sneakers found at Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, etc, but on a per day cost basis these sneakers win. Vans and Converse both offer a wonderful selection of colors, materials, and variations, such as coloring the rubber side or the sole itself. As with the pair, I bought not only is the upper part black, but also the rubber side (hence the name black/black by Vans and monochrome by Converse). Oh, BTW, for those who watch Bones (FOX TV), yes, these Vans classic slip-on black/black sneakers are the same shoes worn by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (actor: David Boreanaz). (The actor David Boreanaz also wears Vans classic slip-on sneakers in his real life, too. He says they "ground him.") Bottom line is simple: They're simple, classic, and have great quality and history behind them. You can't go wrong owning and wearing Vans classic slip-on sneakers - regardless of the color, but IMHO black/black is a fantastic choice! TIP: IMHO, it is always best to give your shoes a "rest" after wearing them, so they have a chance to dry out and to recover physically from the wear we put them through. Yes, this means owning and wearing multiple pairs of sneakers, but in the end it will save you money - as each individual will last longer than if you wear one pair continuously. ... show more
