The Vans shoes fit better than other shoes. My feet (like most people's feet) do not come to a long point at the middle toe. Fashion insist that they do. While these shoes do not follow the actual shape of human feet, they at least make an attempt in that direction, which I appreciate. The soles are disconcertingly light. I suppose those who do lots of sports appreciate this and I don't mind it. However, the sole is a waffle landscape of hundreds of small indented squares rather than being a smooth flat surface. (No doubt why the shoe is so light.) This makes the shoe sole almost impossible to clean. Presumably they are intended for use at the gym rather than walking or running on city streets Unless your city streets are much cleaner than my own ... show more
