My son has worn Van knock-offs for years. He likes the comfort of slip-on sneakers. These shoes have a nice thick sole and fit him way better than the knock-offs. In fact, my son would wear out the knock-offs within 6 months; these sturdy shoes will last much, much longer. The shoes are well made and I can see why Vans are so popular with men and women. I like the all-black shoe with the black rubber sole; he can wear these for dressier occasions as well as every day. He likes his shoes to be comfortable, which Vans are, since he does a lot of walking from classroom to classroom at his school. We weren't able to find his size in the shoe stores in our area, so I was pleased that Amazon had his size.
