Bought for my son who is learning the drum second year in school band, he wanted a snare to use while practicing at home and this is perfect. And the storage bag is just right! Great value for the money!

This kit almost ruined my sons first school performance. I bought this for my son to use in his school band, as I didn’t want to disassemble his full drum kit every time he had a performance and was worried he would damage his more expensive snare. When I got it, I noticed the heads were thin plastic and it had a severe echo. I was able to tune it and used dampeners for the echo, but when my son went to use it the next day the straps for the snare wires had stretched out and the wires were no longer contacting the bottom head. They were plastic also, instead of woven cloth like better brands use. More problems followed. The tensioning knob for the snare wires was also hard to turn and felt like it was going to cross thread. One of the knobs on the stand stripped and would not stay tight causing the drum to tilt. My son tried the neck strap after this, but the stitching came loose as soon as weight was put on it. Then, when he was packing up after the performance, the zipper on the bag broke completely off. Overall, this kit is junk. Don’t try to save money by buying this, get a drum from a quality brand.

Bought this for use with electronic drums and when installing the trigger i noticed that the drum shell was higher quality than past shells I’ve bought at this price point. Definitely a great buy. Not sure how it sounds acoustically, but it’s been holding up exceptionally well with my electronic kit. I also have to mention the case that comes with the snare is also very high quality. The snare definitely exceeded my expectations.

Washers on the inside of the shell are rusted. Packaging was brand new, sealed plastic. So how does rust happen? Sound is ok. My kid takes band at school and can’t tune it to sound less echoey like his classroom drum. But the included mute pad makes it sound just right lol, but at -95db. A set of dampening rings might do the trick. Like other neutral negative reviewers say: spend a little more on a better brand. Get a recommendation from your kids band teacher. Those are good tips. I feel I got a good deal on this purchase with everything that was included. The rust, despite being in sealed package really irritates me, but it’s a starter drum that I expect my kid will replace should their skill go up another level.
