This is a pretty solid budget pirate costume set for parties, Halloween, cosplay, or themed events. I was pleasantly surprised by how much was included in the package. You get a shirt, pants, head scarf, necklace, wrist accessory, and two beard and mustache sets, which gives some flexibility if one set gets worn out or does not fit quite right. The outfit itself falls into the budget costume category, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The fabric is lightweight and simple, which keeps it comfortable and easy to wear. The included accessories help pull the whole pirate look together without needing to buy a bunch of extra pieces. Do not expect movie quality cosplay material. The material is pretty cheap quality. But for the price range this feels like a complete package and gives you everything needed to quickly become a pirate captain. This costume is excellent in terms of the quality of material for the shirt and pants being a soft heavy cotton that fits incredibly well. The jewelry and other accessories is not plastic but instead metal which is nice and higher quality. The only parts that were a bit questionable are the included facial hair. It seems a bit subpar but it doesnā€™t eliminate the excellence of the rest of the costume. Considering the high quality and the amount of items in the package this is an excellent value for the money. This is so much more than a Halloween costume you could buy at the stores, itā€™s good enough quality for cosplay events or plays or performances. My husband had a ton of fun wearing it at a recent event and is excited to wear it again for Halloween this year. ... show more

This 9-piece pirate costume is a great value, if you would like a package-deal outfit that is pretty much complete right out of the box. The included jewelry items are a very nice higher-end costume quality, the rings and necklace both being a heavy metal ā€“ very solid feeling. The leatherette bracelet stack feels fine against the skin and looks very leatherā€“like. The gauze head scarf and belt wrap are the perfect contrast to the tan shirt. The shirt is lightweight and easy to wear. The sizing is only slightly on the generous side so I would just order your normal size. The pants are overly generous when it comes to the length, but the waist size was about right. The leasing through the grommets along the bottom works well to give you that look. The set does include two packages of fuzzy facial hair, which isnā€™t the best quality, but if you are rocking a clean shave and want that scruffy look, then these can be an option for you, but we will forgo this part, opting for either face paint or natural facial hair. Overall, this is not a bad costume set for occasional use. Sizing is good...the large fit me well , and I wear a 44 in US coat size. The pants' waist accommodates a lot of adjustment. All the clothing items are fairly light-weight, and mostly "period-looking", with a few exceptions. The rollup and button sleeves don't really fit the look...Just leave them down, roll them and let them bunch up, or at least substitute a bone or wooden "frog" for the button (or at least simple brass ones). One of my pet peeves with some costumes is the use of modern grommets, and the pant cuffs on these do that, being modern chrome. Not sure what to do there, except maybe just remove them and lace through the cloth slits. The cloth laces are OK, but you can add to the look by substituting leather ones. The eye patch looks too modern. The sash and head kerchief are of the same lightweight maroon cloth. The sash is twelve feet long, so can be wrapped several times as a belt, or draped diagonally over the shoulder and then belt-wrapped to let it provide support for a sword at the hip. The jewelry is well-made, nicer than I expected, and frankly looks mostly more appropriate for a female pirate. The exception is the impressively heavy skull ring, which is slightly open at the back of the band, so adjustable. There are two sets of the pirate mustache, eyebrows & beard, that look mainly suitable for a casual costume party. All-in-all, I'm satisfied with this kit for the price.
