I have purchased these tan (also gray) Van Heusen slacks from J.C. Penney for about 12 years. However, our local JCP has discontinued selling these slacks, and they were not on the JCP website. They are comfortable and have enough room in them without being loose. The material and stitching are worthy of their price. The expandable waist is certainly an advantage and eases the room one may need at the waist. I will now continue to purchase from Amazon. I also loved the fact that lengths are in one-inch measurements rather than two-inch. The only issue that can be said about these slacks is that they are not summer-friendly. Unless one is inside with air conditioning, they tend to be hot. But during the spring, fall, and winter they are great. UPDATE: I just purchased a pair of these tan and gray Van Heusen slacks. I do not know if the manufacturing process has changed or what, but my size was now WAY over-sized and the crotch material almost hung to my knees. I had to return them and order the next size down in the waist. I have not received them as yet, but I am hopeful this will cure the issue. Also, this is not like I have lost an overabundance of weight. I have purchased and have worn a waist size 42 previously. The waist was too large to the point I would need to tighten my belt too much. They have always had a little more room than other pants of the same quality, and I have appreciated the extra material in the pleating. But, this time there was just too much material.     • These pants look Great!.. just a tad snug at waist
The material and quality of these dress pants are superb. Soft n' smooth like wearing a cloud. I couldn't find these in black so I settled for gray. It's a very dark gray and looks great. The fit is nearly perfect just a tad snug at the waist, luckily there is some elastic stretch to it so it's really comfortable. I believe if purchased these again I would get one size larger in the waist just in case I gain more weight. ... show more

I love these Van Heusen Pants. They look incredible and are very durable. Being a big and tall man I appreciate the elastic waist as it allows me sit comfortably without having to adjust the position on my waist (some pants I raise higher on my waist when I stand and lower them when I sit.) I have bought nearly identical Van Heusen pants like these at JC Penney for $70-$110 dollars so $35 on Amazon is a ridiculously better deal. The only "negative" is that these pants are thin so if you live in a cool climate you will not want to be outside in them very long. I live in the central valley of California so in the 100+ summers they're ideal. ... show more

So the quality of the fabric and pants in general are great. I work at a restaurant and these things don't wrinkle or stain. Super comfy, I like that they are a thinner material due to me moving around all the time. The black is definitely black.     • Great pants for the money but wish 34x36 would still be made
For the price I paid you can't beat this anywhere ,this are well made dress pants with nice room to seat down and not feel constrained in them.Now I must rant ,it seems many manufacturers have stopped making 34x36 size and only have 34x34 or 34x38. I get the general idea that I can have 34x36 tailored to my inseam and because tall thin people in America are disappearing but it is cheaper to do this than to go to the big suit store and overpay for buy one get one pants ,then over paid to have fitting done there.At fifty and needed 34x36 I have gone to being able to buy my pants at Big and Tall stores (which are now few and far between and mostly fat stores anyway) to buying online and now to my size is gone.Americans are so overweight now and problably unaware of it,some Big&Tall pants even start at 36 waist and shirts have gone the same way,I went from a X-large Tall to a Large Tall is too big because of vanity sizing!America really needs to stop eating so much or I be having to get custom fitting clothes or walk around in clownishly big clothes. ... show more

I'm over 350 lbs. Most pants that can fit my waist do not have enough room in the ass/thigh. I like Savane pants but he'd trouble finding my size. These pants work just as well for 1/3 to 1/2 the price I have paid for Savane. Good quality so far. Nice and roomy. I like the polyester in the warm weather as well.
