I purchased this item to sanitize the bathroom and the caustic gas that permeates the air during and after use might suggest that it works for killing microbes. As recommended, I close the door when the light is running and also turn on the bathroom exhaust fan. My airway is still left burning afterward. UNPLUG THIS LAMP WHEN NOT IN USE! I unintentionally left my unit plugged in but turned off and several days later, it turned on spontaneously in the middle of the night. My dog was sleeping nearby and the light was beaming at eye-level. I hope it didn't cause any injury. ... show more

I love having a remote so that I am not exposed to the light when Iturn it on. When the cycle is done, everything smells clean and fresh. Whether I use it in the bathroom or utility room, it smells amazing. The clean smell lasts, too. I like that it is killing germs and viruses without chemicals. Once a week I turn it on in the bathroom, with the door closed and the shower curtain open, before we go out. When we return, the clean smell emanates through that end of the house. How will I ever really know? But I think I’m sneezing and blowing less and it leaves a weird smell that convinces my mind it worked! 🙃 And I think it removed some odors… 🤷🏻♀️

    • Read all the directions
We purchased this to use throughout the house. My husband carefully read all the directions in the box. He first put it in our bathroom, closed the bathroom door and also the bedroom door. I couldn't really tell a difference. However, the next day I was watering the seeds I had started, and I noticed the leaves were brittle and shriveled, crunchy. The seedlings are at the other end of the house. And as I said both the bathroom and bedroom doors were closed. My husband checked the directions in the box, and it doesn't mention anything. But it has something on the box about not using around house plants. Fortunately my seedlings seemed to have bounced back. It looks like my orchid will loose at least one leaf. We will try this again. But its going to have to wait for warmer weather when the plants can be moved. So make sure you read all of the directions, in and on the box! ... show more
