I originally got the black in an 2xl, it was too big for me, too wide in body, under the arms and in the shoulder. The XL was perfect. I measure with a tape measure 46" around my bust at the widest point. The weird things is the size chart puts me in a 3XL and even that says 44" around the bust! This would have been gapingly enormous on me. So, when it says XL = 40" bust that is not accurate at all. XL fit me perfect, and I am by tape measure 46" not 40" I think people/companies quote bra sizes, for example I am 41"under my bust by tape measure and I take a 42" bra size but that size isn't your actual bust measurement where they tell you to measure at the widest point of your bust I ended up taking the black one in with a sewing machine by about 2 whole inches down the sides but the shoulder is still too big for me really, Id have been better to return it. Anyway I then purchased the white and dark cyan in XL which fitted perfectly. The pic is the dark cyan and it is truly peacock blue like the advertising pics show NOT the blue in my picture, it wouldn't photograph accurately for some reason. The only thing I would change is that the frilly sleeves are a bit too frilly, less frills would look better IMO, like a third less of the frills, but overall it's pretty good and I am happy with it, and it will dress up nicely
