Bought this on a whim, not expecting great results for about $20, but was pleasantly surprised. Already having a bit of experience and knowledge of pre-amp circuits, I skipped testing it directly connected to a mic - since for $20 you're not going to get a high-quality, high-gain, pristine sounding output signal. Instead, I connected it to the output of my analog mixer (Mackie 1402 VLZ-PRO), and was pleasantly surprised at the results. Of course it was easy for my mixer output to clip the adapter input, so I had to turn it way down, but that only helped the signal-to-noise ratio. Didn't do any extensive testing, as I needed to use this right away, but in a quick test, I could not hear any noise from the XLR-USB adapter. With the combination - mixer/USB interface, I can use any mic as as input, and drive the USB output to clipping if I want to. Would have been nice if the converter was 24 bits (yielding more dynamic range), instead of just 16, but for the cost, I guess I would have been surprised if it were 24 bits. Very pleased.

At first it didn’t recognize it and I had to restart my pc, it’s also blinking green instead of a solid green beam, however instantly I heard no background noise like wayyyy less than what I was having, and before when I would listen to myself on playback it would take a second this one I can’t even hear myself BECAUSE the delay is so little it also made my microphone need to be more near my mouth my white noise went away a lot but this is just one day of use and I am using a audio technica 2005usb

This does what it's supposed to, connects a mic directly to a USB input. I use it almost every day. I have a good quality vocal mic and use that to go into my laptop for teleworking conferences and also for an online-open mic. So much better than the laptop mic. This interface works ok. It does introduce some noise, but it's not noticeable in these contexts, but it does show up in recording. I can't use it for recording - it has a hum. But as I said, it's great for Zoom or Skype etc. It also doesn't feel as solid as I'd hope. The connection to the USB seems like it may eventually break. It's hasn't yet, but it does feel a little cheap.

I have a Audio-Tecnica Cardioid Microphone, before i had this cable, between the two of them, no way to connect them directly to my pc. Now, i can records directly onto my pc, this cable works great. And use the same microphone for writing emails, chatting, records sings, whatever. This cable is plug and play on WINODWS 10, and it didn't take five seconds to set up, once plugged into your USB PORT, a green light will flash. opposite end of the cable is xlr female end of 3-pin plug. And this is a good heavy quality cable, 10 feet long, meet most of your use scenarios, if it's too long for you, don't worry, the package included a ties strap, you can use it to ties the cable. So if you already heave your microphones, and just need a way to plug them into your pc, all you need is the cable, and a free USB PORT on your pc. I highly recommend this cable to anyone trying to hook microphone up to their PC.

I was able to use this cable for temporary use while I waited to get a real audio interface, however, the cons of this mic are going to make you want to get rid of it. I will first start off by saying it's way too quiet. I shouldn't have to add a gain plugin with the input level to 3.0db+ or more just to get a reasonable audio level. If you are going to add a gain plugin as I stated above this will work, however boosting it that many decibels will just reduce audio quality and add a higher noise level (the noise level is how much static and background sounds the microphone picks up). Overall, if you really need this cable get it, but I definitely recommend getting an XLR to 3.5mm cord ONLY IF your computer has a port that is intended for microphones and not headphones/headsets. If your computer doesn't have a port intended for microphones you may need to buy an additional USB soundcard to get it properly working.

This has changed the quality of my live stream tenfold. I use this adapter out from my board in through an adapter to my phone and it's a game changer. I've dropped it, smacked it on the ground off of tables. It does a hell of a job.

Bought these to accessorize a mic I bought my partner as a gift. Of course, I bought in advance, so by the time they received and could try, it was too late to return. So $40 down the drain. This cord should connect my mic to my computer, it does not. I plug up, go to settings, I see usb appear but nothing works when selected. Maybe it needs more power going through it. Either way, this cable is not it. Big waste of time and money. Really wish I could return.
