I have an old Apple DVD reader that uses USB-A, and no matter what dongle, hub, etc. I plugged it into, I couldn't get it to work on my new MacBook which uses USB-C. I kept getting an error about the drive needing power and to connect directly to the computer. So I ordered these, and viola! It works like a champ. Meanwhile I support the Audio Visual booth at our church, and one of the biggest fears happened: the battery died in the Magic Mouse on the Apple computer which runs several programs to produce "the show." For anyone that runs a Mac, using only a keyboard to run things is not a pleasant or always doable thing. There was an old mouse for a security camera system, but it was USB-A and the M1 Mac the church has only has USB-C connections. So my other converter is now being used to run the backup mouse. Recommend you put this in your bag of tricks, especially with the big conversion from A to C going on in the world. Never can tell when you might need it. ... show more

I really can't say a whole lot about these yet as I've not connected more than a simple HDD or thumb drive to it. They pop in and stay nice and tight, they don't lose connection to the Mac, here's no detection issue in the OS, and they don't seem to generate excessive heat during long file transfers. The transfer speeds, while not tested, 'felt' appropriate for the drives in use. My HDD was able to be loaded with 500+ Gb of data without any notable slowdowns, stutters, etc that you may encounter with cheap adaptors. I don't have and external SSD, so I can't gauge the high-speed rating to that extent. My cheap USB thumb drive puttered along at its normal, painfully slow pace (that I always forget about until use), so I'm not sure that was any more of a test than the HDD. The only negative thing of their design isn't really about them though as Apple chose to put the ports so close together that any Normal USB housing will have trouble plugging in when using both ports. That is, unless those plugs are Only cable extensions (like what this also comes in). I'm not sure I tested, but I'm pretty sure I can plug one in and connect the USB-C charging cable on the same side without issue. For now though, these will be great when used on both sides at once as needed. Well, that or when connecting one to my powered ISB3 hub. ... show more

Got these when I got my laptop. Works great and they're small so really easy to store in a computer bag or backpack. I only have two things that surprised me. On the Air M2, the ports are so close together that I cannot use both at the same time, I have a dock so I usually only use one at a time so its not a problem for me but still important to know. And secondly, I ordered the silver color but it does not match the MacBook silver color on my laptop; again, not a huge problem I still use these every day and they are super useful. The quality of this adapter is great. I was hesitant in purchasing it but I am more than satisfied with my purchase and glad it has 2 just in case. I only need this for one device. I upgraded my laptop but I have a decade old 2 TB Toshiba USB external hard drive that needed to connect to USB-C only laptop. Adaptors work as intended. Nice satin finish -- of course, the electrons don't care. And the packaging! 2 inch by 3 inch by 1/4 inch with foam insert in which the two adaptors nestle. I think the packaging cost more to produce than the components. All in all, a nice kit. Get it.

Bought these so I could continue to use my devices that are USB powered on my new MacBook Pro, which only has USB-C ports. I'm able to use my optical mouse adapter and my USB drive. They are too wide to use side by side, however for what I needed them for, its no issue. They work great, pack away so easily, and I'm able to charge miscellaneous devices. 10/10. ... show more
