Played with extended family, including 4-year-old, and this set is very fun. It works well, after a couple of hours playtime. Batteries still good. One complaint is that the "Life" score on the gun does not seem to register vest hits, so your vest hits can be higher, resulting in vest registering you dead while gun counter still shows lives. Also, players can change gun team during game, which doesn't seem right. Bought this as a birthday gift and it arrived in a broken box poorly taped up. One of the laser guns didn't work. We requested an exchange and are hoping for better results. Addendum 5/21/23: Our replacement set was delivered 36 hours after requesting an exchange and it arrived in good factory-sealed condition and in proper working order. With this replacement set, I would like to give USA Toyz more stars for their outstanding customer service and dedication to quality assurance. These guns are a lot of fun! They come in a really nice box in a fitted foam sheet that makes them feel like they're really high class right from the get-go. The guns feel high-quality - they aren't going to break if they fall or bang into something. They DON'T come with batteries and each gun requires 4 AA batteries...which I wasn't prepared for when I first got them...so I recommend ordering 16 rechargeable batteries along with these. I wasn't sure what to expect from the "training bot" and was suprised at how tiny it is...maybe two inches wide by 4 inches long (I was expecting it to be the size of a small puppy!). I started charging the bot right away with the included usb charger...just press the the unmarked "on" button and the little guy starts scurrying across the floor like a roach! When you shoot it, it does flips and acts crazy for a while...kinda neat, though my small dog isn't impressed! The guns themselves are easy to use. Batteries go in the top of the gun barrel after removing two small phillips head screws. There is an on switch on the left side and you'll immediately hear the gun make some noises. The included instruciton page details what each button does, how to reload, change the gun style, and team color. I think the instruction manual has the "team color and gun style" buttons mixed up, but everything is correct other than that. It doesn't matter how many individuals are on each team, so you can add other gun sets for fun with lots of people! I'm going to convince a family member to buy a set so we can all play. This toy is great fun! I thought this might be a little advanced for my 5 year old but he caught on quickly and loves playing. This toy has been great for the entire family. My favorite part is the rechargeable batteries. As any parents knows, toys can quickly use up batteries but the rechargeable ones last a long time! ... show more

Original review:This is a great idea and the ones that kept working; the kids had a blast with but it is a huge disappointment when you buy a four pack and one of them doesn't work!! 25% failure rate is pretty unacceptable - especially when your a grandparent so the kids don't live at your house, so now you have to take away all of the guns to send them back and try for a new set that all work. You can't just replace the one gun, so our grandchildren had to go home without their big present!! That was a huge problem. It is clear that quality control is not priority at this company and neither is good customer service. New Review:Well the company contacted me after the fact and bent over backwards to make us whole and happy. We now have 2 new sets of the guns and they all work perfectly!! Edit: I contacted USA Toyz and they immediately solved the issue by replacing the malfunctioning gun. They were attentive, understanding, fast and stood by their product. I am really disappointed. Could have been hours of fun, but instead I have one unhappy player. One of the guns shoots straight. The other you have to be standing no more than 10 feet away otherwise the gun doesn’t register a shot. I aimed one (White working one) directly at the other one (blue defective). It only counted 1 out of every 5-7 shots. I finally started aiming considerably lower and the hit rate increased, but was still inconsistent. When you have a gun that doesn’t work you basically don’t have a game to play. My kids played for about 10 minutes then put them down because the game wasn’t “fair”. Moved on to a different toy. I had really high hopes for these given a $60 price tag. ... show more
