Plastic key sleeve has a slot on it that has to be pressed up into case. Otherwise you'll get frustrated trying to snap it closed. My original case battery was dead and screw rusted and stripped out. Tiny drill bit took off head.

Did this kit fix the broken key remote on our Honda Civic? Yes And for that, it gets an average rating, 3 stars. TL:DR- use your old screw, if you still have it. How could this kit achieve 5 stars? 1. The plastic clamshell could snap together more easily. I tried a few different ways to snap the pieces together. Each time, fearing I was going to break the shell or the electronics from the force required. Ultimately, I was able to figure out the series of ninja moves to get the remote put back together without causing further damage. Hint: start closer to the key and work your way back. Second, the supplied screw driver and screw are garbage. The screwdriver was too small to apply any meaningful torque on the original screw. Which was still in place on our key. Fortunately I had a more robust jewelers screwdriver on hand. However, that additional torque proved to be too much for the screw supplied with the kit. As a result, the screw snapped off with about 3 ft-lbs of torque. Also, the supplied screw was course thread, while the oem screw is fine thread. So with the new screw embedded in our key and no screw head to back it out, I had to get creative. I did get everything fixed but went back to using the original screw and my own screwdriver and all is good. So this is a warning. If you still have the original screw, use that! Quick and easy replacement. The instructions however only provide installation and not instructions on how to get the actual key fob out of the original plastic key. other than that installation was great and the product works
