The board is the perfect size for my desk. I do some of my carvings right here on my desk, and in the past, I used cardboard, but I had to tape it down and after a while, the cuts and wear started to break down. I love this tried an true product. For what its worth, I'm old enough to remember when this product was invented. When I left one of my jobs as a graphic designer, I left it behind. I was embarking on a new career path as a digital graphic designer. I kept my XActo knife to open Amazon boxes. Fast forward three decades. I'm spending more of my creative time doing fine-art projects, and I create 3D comps from sometimes small pieces of paper and cardboard. Now where is my self-healing cutting matte? Oh yeah, I lost it years ago. So I ordered a brand new one, from, (you guessed it) AMAZON. I also bought refill XActo blades. I was delighted. This matte is almost exactly, and probably better, than I remembered. Now, where the heck is my XActo knife? No more cutting on pieces of corrugated cardboard.
