    • Nice shelves, poor bracket design

Pros: Shelf is sturdy and looks nice in the kitchen once properly installed. Cons: Required multiple installations that were not intuitive. The provided mounting bracket is notched every few inches in the top and bottom for screws. We installed with 2 of the bottom notches in studs, but the spacing made it so none of the top notches could also align with a stud and needed drywall anchors. This made the bottom screws able to tighten further and more securely than the top, and as a result, the heavy 48 inch shelves were tilted downwards after the installation was completed. We needed to uninstall the shelves and install screws behind the bracket to act as a shim. We also used about 2 dozen screws and wall anchors to complete the installation in a way it felt secured to us. The 6 screws provided for the 48 inch shelves seems inadequate. ... show more

I did struggle a bit with my specific wall and finding studs that would match up with the exact areas to place the screws. However, after some finessing and trial and error, I did get this set up nicely and got lots of compliments on this. Because the wood is so heavy it does lean forward slightly but I think I’m the only one that really notices it. For those reasons I don’t trust putting more than ten lbs of weight on each shelf to be safe. I did notice a small scratch on the wood but it’s not noticeable once the shelf is covered and up. It’s just slightly disappointing due to the cost. Some people complained in the reviews about the smell of the finish, but after a day of sitting out I don’t notice it anymore. If you’re looking to use this for heavy dishes or items this probably isn’t the best shelf, but you can definitely buy additional brackets to place underneath if needed (something I considered doing - but since I’m not using anything heavy it’s ok). Overall I love the aesthetic it gives my kitchen and it doesn’t look cheap like some of those other ones out there. Definitely one of the more affordable options using real wood. ... show more

    • Don’t buy. Not sturdy and not secure on hardware

Remodeling our kitchen. I wanted to put some floating shelves up and do a coffee bar. Didn’t put this up right away because we were still working on tiling the wall it was going on. When we opened the box and took out the metal bracket, the metal bracket was all rusted and gross. I was so disappointed because now I cannot return it. The shelves are not sturdy. They shelf just goes in through the 3 metal pieces that are attached to the bracket. Nothing else holding on to the the shelf to make it sturdy We had to drill holes on the bracket so we can screw it to a stud. You cannot put anything heavy on it. It took so long to try to get it leveled Will never buy anything from this manufacturer. I would not give this even 1 star but there is no option for that. The only thing good about this is that the wood looks good. That is why I bought it. Hardware terrible. Hopefully I will be able to use it. Otherwise we will have to figure out what other hardware we can buy. My cheap Ikea shelves are soooo much better than these. ... show more
