  • One of the best small boxes
This one's a surprise. I wasn't sold on the flavor and felt like I could take it or leave it, but the gameplay for this expansion is just great. PROS: - Investigate. What a great mechanic, and it’s always given away pretty cheaply. Offers lots of variety and a bit of control over your own fate. - I think they did a nice job showing alternate versions of heroes who are mechanically harmonious but not just repetitious of the originals. For example, Spider-Man Noir is all costed at 2 just like every other Spider-Man, but they found a bunch of new designs for that space. - Some of the art is fantastic, especially Spider-Man Noir, Daredevil Noir, and the Freak Show villain group. CONS: - No gameplay cons at all. This expansion makes for great games. - Not all the art is great, though. Angel Noir and the whole evil X-Men are kind of an eyesore. FAQ: Who on earth is Angel Noir? "Angel Noir" was a head-scratcher for me at first, but turns out it's not actually a Noir version of the X-Man Angel at all, it's a very vintage hero from the 1930s-1940s when Marvel was still Timely Comics, appearing in the very first issue of "Marvel Comics" (then a comics title not the company name). So actually, it's a pretty sweet homage to the Golden Age. Definitely recommend this set, even if you're not into the style. ... show more

  • Of the Expansions for Legendary -- the most popular at our table
With the possible exception of the additional Spider-man material we have, this expansion has been the most popular at our table. I have personally loved trying to stop Goblin and this men, and being able to use a cool alternative version of Luke Cage. Lots of fun!

  • Investigate is a good mechanic.
A good addition to the Legendary Game. Investigate is a fun mechanic. Not to keen on Charles Xavier as a mastermind.

  • Another fun expansion
I love the Legendary Marvel game, and have enjoyed each new expansion they come up with. They continually add new wrinkles and challenges to the game, and I have yet to be disappointed.

  • Best Small Box Expansion
Perhaps the best small box expansion yet for Legendary. It feels like Upper Deck stepped it up a notch, especially with the schemes.
