We used this as our second bassinet in the nursery while the baby slept in a fancy bassinet in our bedroom. It packs up for travel and is sturdy enough to survive the journey. I've set it up and broken it down on my own a handful of times without issue. It folds up with a simple pull of the release handle and locks in with a minimal amount of force. The pad is the same for the bassinet and playard. It is firm but padded, making it suitable for sleeping on and standing up once they are old enough. I love that this is green guard certified. The mattress is thicker than some other brands… it is thicker than our Joie pack n play. Easy to set up and put away. 2 years later still looks brand new and works great for my little ones when needed.
