We got this to replace a 15-year-old lighted 10X makeup mirror that stopped working. [It was a very expensive two-sided mirror that had 10X on one side and regular mirror on the other side, that we got it from a large chain that just went out of business earlier this year]. This mirror is light-weight, compact [doesn’t have a tall stand], and runs on batteries [rather than needing to be plugged in], which makes it portable. It is very bright [compared to our prior mirror], plus it adds light options our prior mirror did not have. It is much less expensive than our prior mirror, yet it does everything our prior mirror did. The one thing that, for us, keeps this mirror at 4 stars — we attached it our bathroom counter with the mirror in a much more horizontal position than vertical position, so the bulk of the mirror’s weight was no longer directly over the stand. The offset weighted position seemed to be too much for the suction cup to handle, and it fell over after a few minutes. This happened 3 times before we were able to get it to securely stay in place at this angle. Apparently the secret is to wet your fingers under the faucet, then rub the wetness on the suction cup, then tighten the suction cup. Once we did this, the mirror stayed in place at the angle we wanted.

This mirror is so incredibly handy - especially for those of us whose eyes are starting to dim with age ;) I take it on business trips and have had wonderful luck. It has three light settings and the suction cup is incredibly strong. Sometimes I use it as a vanity mirror in my hotel room while sitting at the desk, and sometimes I suction it to a mirror in the bathroom - just depends on the set up. It is easily adapted, the light is amazing, the size is generous enough to see what you need to see but not so big it can't be easily packed. I truly love this mirror!!
