Perfect fitting boot ;no break in period right out of the box!! I worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and this boot was a favorite among officers that have to walk the concrete floors and compound all day. It is very comfortable and lightweight if you have to respond to emergencies. Just one note: At the end of each day take the foot lining out and allow it to air dry because if not foot moisture will trap under the foot lining and cause mold and odor. Please do this. One more tip: I know the boot is not made of leather but hit it off with black Kiwi every so often and brush it just so it will maintain its original black look.

I had to wait to write a product review on these until actually receiving my order. The first pair ordered were shipped from a distribution house and were not the same boots, meaning I received one boot that was the waterproof 1.5 version and one that was just the normal Valsetz. This is important to note. Under Armour's own website distinguishes the 1.5 Rts Valsetz as the waterproof and is only available in black. Next thing to note is the quality of the product. It is what I personally wanted and expected, however as most reviewers note and rightfully so, these will not endure the test of time under rigorous conditions and therefore, I would not call them a "boot" actually, but an endurance "shoe". This is not a reflection of Under Armour, more to the point, a suggestion to understand what these "boots" are actually good for. Note they are imported and not to be compared to the quality of some of the company's other boots, such as the Bozeman Speed Freak, which I own two pairs of. It is fair to note that most likely due to competition, UA had to outsource its production on these, as in the past they were a different boot and quality. I will offer some pros and cons for why I would recommend these as a owner: Pro: Extremely light and comfortable. You barely notice you have them on. The fit is exactly as my shoe size and for an imported product I normally get a size larger, but these fit perfectly. Con: Due to the lightness of the materials, these will not last the test of hard use. I however will only wear these for small duration's of work days on normal floors. If these are sought for high-duty use such as military or tactical firs-responders you will find them lack durability as many reviewers have noted. Pro: excellent low-impact sole pattern. As some users have reviewed, the past UA products had the UA symbol on the bottom of their sole and questioned if these were a knock-off. They aren't. I ordered two pairs and both came in the UA box. The UA website even shows this tread pattern on its views, identical to Amazon's. The change is as I stated earlier, perhaps to off-shore sourcing for an imported product. Con: Quality again is compromised in the weld of the sole and these will not be waterproof, even with the true 1.5 version. There are methods to make them so, but they would be sweaty and not good for long as the material would be affected. Pro: Stylish Con: Price. These are significantly over-priced for the quality and durability. So many boot manufacturer's make a product that is similar and better priced for the durability. On that side I was disappointed. As I stated in the beginning, I had to order this product twice due to a foul-up at the distribution center. Amazon took great care of me in expediting the return, but it was delayed in shipment and actually arrived very late. That was disappointing. I opted to keep these as I do like the feel and comfort. I will continue to search out other options that are similar, but am unsure yet if I will ever re-order these again. Only time and use will tell. Overall, two stars is all I can justify.

There is nothing about this boot that makes it “tactical” other than it is black. They are comfortable, but no safety toe, slip resistant sole, or waterproof. It is a lightweight black hiking boot—that is it.
