I like that there’s a margin left at the top for average sized cards, as it makes it far easier to remove the card from the sleeve if necessary. I'll start by saying that I never liked card sleeves..I usually just re-buy games once the cards start looking pretty bad. Unfortunately, I really didn't have a choice with Alien Legendary Encounters. It's an excellent game, but the cards are pretty low quality and there are a ton of them. I knew after a few plays, the cards would probably start to show significant wear and tear. Also, for approximately 600 cards, I didn't want to shell out another $30-$40 on something I wasn't too keen on getting in the first place. I settled on these penny sleeves because they were so inexpensive. Yes, they do look and feel super cheap, but they protect the cards and the material is surprisingly durable (never had an issue with the sleeves tearing). They were actually a little better than what I was expecting. If protecting your cards is the only factor for you, then get these. If you really care about the look and "feel" of the components of a game, then I would get something nicer. These penny sleeves turned me on to sleeving my other games. I get nicer ones for the games I love, and the penny sleeves for my games that are out of print or not worth re-buying. You can't beat the price of these sleeves. They do have a slight blue tint to the plastic which doesn't show on the cards, but clearly shows up when they are in a stack of empties. They fit more loosely than I would prefer and are very thin. I don't mind the thickness because it's exactly what I would expect for the price. However, you could easily fit two standard cards in this thing and it has a fair amount of overhang past the edges and corners of the cards. This makes them fit poorly into any pre-formed collector's boxes you might have. They also aren't as nice to use with cards you play with regularly because they are very slick. If you were going to hold cards in your hand as you might do in any standard deck building game, they slip all over the place. Any amount of cards in a reserver pile larger than 10 starts to slide and won't remain stacked without a fair amount of attention. I find myself worrying about the cards more than I would if they weren't in the sleeves because of this. While the price is right, personally I'm going to buy sleeves that fit better, are slightly thicker, and aren't as slippery. After all, I've spent hundreds of dollars on my cards, why cheap out on the protection? I bought 1000 of these and I'm going to use them. But probably not on any rare or hard-to-find cards. ... show more
