Such a great product! It was super easy to use. The whole process only takes a few minutes to complete, and our puppy was perfectly happy to use it. The clay is not sticky, so we didn't have to worry about getting any crazy residue off his paws. Would purchase again!

I'm being apprehensive because I don't know how it will age. However, it was a simple process. I will probably end up coating with a spray shellac to preserve because the one I had done at the vet for my cat a few years ago started crumbling. In addition, if you know you baby is passing, try to do it before they pass, as the gravity will make a better print. This product arrived right on time. The instructions were easy to understand and the products were easy to use. I will say that it took a few more days than expected for the mold to harden, but overall it was a good purchase.

When I originally ordered the DIY Keepsake Kit, it was delivered to me with the 2 packages of clay completely dried out & unusable. There was no way to kneed it & get the air bubbles out, use the rolling pin to flatten it out, use the circle cutter to cut the clay to the ornament shape, and most certainly couldn’t imprint my dogs paw into the clay nor use the numbers, letters, and symbol stencils that were provided to put his name into the clay. Naturally, upset about the facts of the situation, I contacted the seller and provided pictures of the clay & the quality of it that I had received. Not only did I get a response in a VERY timely manner (not even a full 12 hours later), but the seller apologized to me, and sent me the 2 packages of clay that come in the kit. AND not only was I sent the 2 packages that came with the kit, but I was sent FOUR PACKAGES of clay for the inconvenience !!! As well as a personally hand written note from the seller thanking me for letting her make things right. So I was able to make the original 2 DIY Keepsakes that I intended on making (which I will use specifically for just the stands that are provided in the kit) PLUS I was able to make ANOTHER 2 keepsakes with the additional 2 packages that I was sent (which I will be able to use specifically as ornaments on my Christmas tree every year as well as ALWAYS have the other 2 Keepsakes on the display stands all year round on the shelf above my fireplace). I wish ALL sellers were as WONDERFUL to deal with as the experience that I’ve had with Liat and her company “BabyMushroom.” Not only did I get what I paid for, but I got MORE than what I paid for & the seller really did go above & beyond for me & deserves the upmost respect as well as this very detailed and heartfelt review from me. I would recommend the product itself because it really is such a wonderful idea/memorable item for your loved one whether that be a dog, a cat, or even your child. & I would recommend it even more due to the absolutely AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL customer service that Liat from BabyMushroom has given to me. I thank you so much for doing right by me & I hope my review helps your business grab more attention & more customers in the future for you, you genuinely deserve it !!! ** UPDATE ** I am SO happy that the seller has done what she did for me & that the seller was so quick to respond & quick to fix the issue because I purchased this item to get one paw print imprint of my dog’s paw for me, and one for my girlfriend as well (since the kit makes 2 & has 2 stands & rope/string included, we could both be able to have one). The reason I purchased this kit in the first place was because my beloved pup was diagnosed with lymphoma about 4 months ago, and he has just recently passed away only 2 short weeks after I made his imprints. So now if the seller didn’t want to fix it, or made the process difficult, there was a very good chance that he would’ve passed away before I was able to receive the replacement clay & do his paw imprint. So I just had to post this update stating how much that meant to me originally, and how much MORE it means to me NOW since he passed away so shortly after doing his imprints. So again, I thank the seller SO SO MUCH for getting me new clay within 2 days max because time was of the essence in my situation. Now even though I am grieving the loss of my pup, at least my girlfriend and I have these imprints of his paw. I stare at his imprint everyday and it’s been made into the center piece on my dresser sitting in the plastic display stand that came with the kit for it to always be displayed and for me to keep his memory alive every single day. ... show more

Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore rats. I always tell people that rats are the perfect pet, with one exception: Their average lifespan is only 2-3 years. When our three beloved rats passed their second birthday (in Fall 2022), I knew it was time to start making plans to remember them. So I ordered this footprint kit and asked the kids to help me with the process. We rolled out the clay to about a quarter-inch thick, as directed, and cut it with medium-sized Christmas cookie cutters. That's where the problems started. The texture of the "clay" was quite disappointing. It's not clay at all - it's a stiff and springy plastic material, kind of like marshmallows. It is not easy to make an indentation in it, and when you do, the dent tends to spring back. That might be OK if you are trying to get the footprint of a mellow 100-lb dog, but if you are trying to take the footprint of a small pet like a rat, it's practically impossible. I started by trying to use the rats' front feet, but that was a no-go. They were upset by having their front feet smushed into this plastic substance, and they struggled. Using their back feet (photo 1) worked a little better because it was easier to hold the rats still around the upper body; their back legs are longer than their front legs, and their back feet are bigger, so it filled the space better. That said, after about 15 minutes that were not very fun for the rats, we finally got three completed molds (photo 2). I wasn't too satisfied by how shallow and indistinct the impressions were, but I figured we could fix that by painting, maybe? As instructed, we punched a ribbon hole and also stamped some letters into each shape before it dried. That, too, was difficult. The hole did not want to be a hole; it stretched and resisted and healed itself. Forcibly trying to make the hole unfortunately disturbed the rest of the polymer enough that the footprints started to fade. Argh!!! Anyway, once our three cutout shapes dried, I took some time to very carefully paint them with paints and a brush we had on hand (not provided). This is ESSENTIAL if you want the cutouts to look like anything. Otherwise, they are as featureless as toilet paper (white with perhaps a very faint pattern). You can see the finished product in photos 3 and 4. Although I am happy we persevered to create a keepsake of our elderly rats, I would not buy this kit again in the future. I assume it works better for large pets; I just wish there was a product that worked better for small pets, capturing more precision while requiring less force. ... show more
