PROS: Low cost, length, molded plugs. Only used for USB 2.0 power. I don't know what the data transfer rate is for USB 2.0 or 3.0. CON: This cord lasted less than four months before the plug (the end going into the phone) stopped making contact. I used the cord every day, but I think it should have held up under that use. On the other hand, the price was right for a long cord. UPDATE: Within 24 hours after posting the review above, I was contacted by this company's Customer Service department. They read my review and are sending me a new cord. Apparently the cord was under warranty, a fact of which I was unaware. A company that stands by its product like that deserves five stars. Purchased several of these cables in the last couple years. In retrospect, they have all failed too quickly to be a good value. They appear sturdy built and still look new but no longer will charge phone. I can only surmise that the sturdy outer case holds fragile wires or poor connections. Maybe the plugs wear. Don.t know. Each new Ugreen cord worked well for a time. Also purchased a UGREEN USB 2.0 cable with braided casing that seems to be holding up well. UPDATE 5/20/2020 ******* UGREEN has bent over backwards to right this problem. Long after I no longer cared, they pursued a solution and didn't stop until they were assured I was satisfied. I have a powered USB hub, and i was constantly getting errors "last USB device not recognized" or some such. I looked at all the possible reasons for this error, and it dawned on me after a couple hours of searching, the problem was probably the cable connecting the hub to the PC. I was right. I was wary of using a cable that wasn't from the manufacturer of the hub, but I have had this cable for over a month and have not had any unknown device errors, or last device not recognized, or suddenly my keyboard stops working. The new cable was all that was needed. I hope a person will read this before they go installing odd things on their PC! This cable is great! ... show more

Cable arrived on time as stated. Item was packed in a sturdy container and arrived in excellent condition. Took the cable out of plastic bag and tried to insert the cable end into the Samsung Galaxy S5 to test the charging capability. When I tried to insert the end into the phone, noticed it was not going all the way to activate the charging sequence. I took the original Samsung cable and measured the end that goes into the charging slot and noticed there is a difference in size. The newly arrived cable measures approximately 7.9mm in thickness and the original cable measures 4.63mm. The measurement was taken on only the part that goes into the slot/port. Because of the thickness of the ordered part, it will not go all the way into the charging port to make the proper connection. Essentially the cable is useless to me and it probably not worth the time and effort to return the cable. Total length of cable is 20.5 inches. The USB end is ok. Update: Measurement was done on the cable and noticed their is a difference in thickness from the original cable. The metal end that goes completely into the cell phone to charge the phone measures 2.26mm; whereas, the original cable that came with the Samsung phone measures 1.84mm. Again, I could not insert the cable completely into the charging port, thus disallowing me to charge the phone. Essentially the cable end is a bit thicker and there is no way for me to charge the phone even though the product description says the cable replacement is for a Samsung Galaxy S5. ... show more

I am also fond of the fact that the cord is rather think (about a 1/4 inch). All around, a great purchase for $5.99. I highly recommend this for a quick replacement. over the years i have tried countless cables from different manufacturers. i found that in regards to quality you cannot reliably even guess based on appearance what is good and what is not. so i decided for my last cable purchase to stick with one brand and see how they ALL worked out. thankfully i had excellent results with both. the other being UGREEN Micro USB Cable, USB 2.0 A Male to Micro B Charging Cord and Sync Data Cable for Samsung Galaxy, Nexus, LG, Motorola, Android Smartphones, PS4, Xbox One Controller (1.5ft, Rose Gold) i found the ugreen cables, be it this usb 3.0 or the micro usb, both to be very good with zero defects inside or out. i plan to stick with ugreen for all my future cabling needs. ... show more

    • Great cord at a great price

I bought this cord to replace an Amazon Basics cord that had issues right away. The manufacturer's cord lasted about 1.5 years before it started having issues, which was supposed to be fixed by the Amazon cable. The Amazon cable immediately had transfer rate issues depending on the orientation of the cord, but eventually stopped working completely just after the return period. I have had this one for about 2 months. The transfer rate is great, and all games load quickly. Haven't had any issues since getting this cable regardless of cable orientation i.e. I can move my system without issues. I also liked that there was a shorter length option - don't need 3+ feet from external to system. The price is comparable to the Basics version, but the build quality seems better. I have had other UGreen cords in the past, and they are amazing. They have great prices and the products are long-lasting. I will update if there are any issues in the future, but I don't anticipate any.
