Description

This is Bill’s first book and is dedicated to the memory of his father who was killed by an impaired driver in 1975. When he retired, he decided to become a rideshare driver to get inebriated people home safely. These are humorous (and sometimes scary) adventures in the wee hours of the morning.Early readers of UBER@2AM said: “Bill is a great storyteller. His sarcastic thoughts are hilarious.” “Bill’s passion to save lives comes across in these short stories.” “'Drunk Blonde Stalking' is both funny and scary at the same time.” “His story about meeting the self-appointed God in his back seat was strangely weird.” “The first story, ‘Girl on a Rock’, sets the tone of his book immediately.”Come ride along and enjoy great glimpses into the nighttime in the Valley of the Sun.Bill is working on his second book with even more crazy chronicles of driving drunks safely home. • Very Entertaining!
This a very well written book! It is funny, entertaining, and a joy to read. Bill makes you feel like you are riding along with him. When you think people can't get any crazier read this and you will see they can be! What kept coming to mine was the saying "You can't make this stuff up, this is real life!" After reading you will want to meet Bill and be his friend! No UBER driver will ever seem the same to you! Hahaha Thank you Bill! ... show more

  • Loved it
I’ve known Bill Powers for many years. I loved reading his encounters and it reads as if he’s talking. Glad to see he used a terrible tragedy to be of help so it doesn’t happen to another family! Can’t wait to for the next book and more stories!

  • Nice but interesting short read
A book like this always makes you think about yourself in the circumstances being described and how would I deal with them. A lot of what happens after its "O" dark 30

  • Funny and gripping
It's so true that truth is stranger (and in this case also funnier) than fiction! Who knew that an Uber driver could run into SO many interesting/funny and sometimes bizarre situations? This book should ne on the NY Times best seller list. I highly recommend it. #OprahsBookClub

  • Only my dad...
Only my dad could go from the top of the real estate game to the top of the ride share game by writing a book. My whole life I have enjoyed his stories and this book was a great read of the ones I never got to see in person. I know there are countless uber drivers out there that probably have some stories on me when I was drunk and I'm glad to know Bill is doing the right thing and saving lives. If you want to laugh and get an in depth look at what being an uber driver entails, read this book! Love you dad! ... show more
