Having one less specialty item to worry about refills for is a godsend when life is coming at you so fast postpartum. The fact that this can use any standard kitchen trash bag means that a huge roll from the grocery store will see us through months of diaper changes (and any new parent can tell you, you’re going to go through A LOT of diapers and therefore a lot of bags). It traps the smells, and the locking lid keeps my curious dogs out of the bin. Plus it comes in great color options; the green is true to picture. The only complaint I have: it’s so awesome at trapping smell that we have sometimes put off emptying it and if you keep pushing it full of more diapers (easy to do) it becomes nearly impossible to pull the bag out without tearing. I was gifted a diaper pail before my baby was born and we use that one in her nursery, but we wanted something for our bedroom while she sleeps here at night. We were using a trashcan and it would not contain the smell of dirty diapers at all. Was looking at other brands but didn’t want to have to buy special bags for the diaper pail as that would cost more money. This diaper pail works very well with the bags we already had, we buy the Sam's club scented trash bags and it works great with those. Would definitely recommend this to any parent. ... show more

I bought this for my elderly parents to use as a bathroom garbage can for their incontinence underwear. It's easy for them to use, as the deposit opening slides to open and close. You also can lock the slide opening if you want. A 13 gallon bag easily fits and locks inside the can, and it definitely keeps odor out of the bathroom when the slide door is closed. We thought we could get away without a diaper pale and at the last minute, changed our minds and just pulled the plug on buying this. Thank goodness we did!!! Some people say these aren’t necessary but honestly I love having one. And I have noticed no smells from it. We can out so many diapers in here even though it’s fairly small and you don’t use special bags, just regular trash bags which is perfect. We would recommend! ... show more

Only had this for a little over a week. Using for my mother to put her disposable underwear in. You do need to push things through the small hole which could be messy if you are not careful. I give it 4 stars because it is easy for my mother to use - much better than the foot pedal style. I use a typical trash bag with pull ties and tie them around the front lip of the interior round drop hole. It seems to keep smells down to a minimum but I do have concerns about the metal absorbing the smells over time (this is a problem I have read about metals). Manufacturer says to only use water to clean, so this could be an issue in the future. However, we will use what we have to to keep the smell down and sanitize things. ... show more

The GOOD: Well it works! It definitely locks the smell inside which is the main reason of why we bought this. We got the sage and I have to tell it is exactly as shown in the pictures, it is easy to use and is not heavy at all. The BAD: There are 2 things I don’t particularly like: 1. The inside edge of the trash can catches the bag making difficult to take it out when you need to change the bag, wish they come out with a smooth edge to make the task easier. 2. You can lock the “sliding lid” so kids can’t open it but you can’t lock the main body lid of the trash can and unfortunately it opens to easy so kids can easily open the trash can and sneak their hand inside. ... show more

Make you buy a liner for it as well but with or without the bags, I can't smell anything. Great for use in a high traffic area if necessary. Keeps the pets and kiddos out of dirty diapers and very easy to switch out the bags when it gets full of cloth diapers. 5 outta 5
