We love our diaper genie! Our old one broke, so we bought 2 more to keep 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. It definitely traps odors and allows for a TON of diapers to be held inside before needing to be emptied. Worth every penny.

    • It’s good, but it broke before 6 months. May replace.

So... got this in December because of a smaller space. And wanted a better air tight solution. It still has a slight odor, once you open the top to put in the diaper, the stench is far reaching. Which should be expected. But as the bin fulls up, it starts to crack open and the sent would leak out the spaces. At one point I had resorted to putting a paper weight on top just to keep it close. The bag wasn’t even full. I’ve had mind for about 5 or 6 months. It broke at 4-5 months. But I’m determined not to make my money go to waste. The compartment that holds waste, is hard to open when the bag is full. And it was during one of theses attempts, which I thought I was getting better at, that the we bottom clips that keep it, so the door tilts, broke. It closes shut, and is surprisingly easier to get the waste out when the bag is full. But it’s still broken. With baby number two on the way, I am contemplating replacing this one in the fall, but I want to increase my use of reusable diapers as oppose to disposable ones. And the diaper genie isn’t ideal for reusable diapers. ... show more

I got this for family expecting a little one, and I will say between this one and the platinum, they’re both amazing. If you’re considering any diaper genies they’re both superior. But the size and’s price point won them over. This is a great shower gift! Even after kids you can use it for women hygiene items to keep in one trash, or if someone uses cloth diapers you can store in here until you have a load to wash ! ... show more

I didn’t plan on getting a diaper genie, but it was the one thing my husband had himself set on getting for our first baby’s arrival.. and you know what? He was right. It’s great. We have nosy trash rummaging Labrador and this has kept him from getting into any old diapers, it’s nice to have a designated trash right at the changing station that’s both (fairly) smell proof and dog proof at the same time. And if we were to start over I’d get it again. **My husband does have a preference for the NAME BRAND refills and has sworn off the generic brands due to quality and general experience using them ... show more

I love it, it definitely makes everything easier. The size is perfect, it fits great. Using it is really easy and changing the bag is too. I recommend using the odor bags better but I will work perfectly with whatever you use.
