    • Perfect replacement 2006 f150 supercrew 4x4
The UAC KT 1404 A/C Compressor and Component Kit fit and worked perfectly on my 2006 f150 supercrew 4x4. It was installed only a few weeks ago and is working as it should. The kit will hopefully last a while on my 200,000 mile truck. During removal, I would suggest pulling the radiator, fan, and shroud. The compressor needs to come out toward the front as there is no room to drop it on a 4x4. Another tip: Don't bother trying to remove the hard to access block that holds the lines on top of the compressor until you pull it out the front. You can remove the opposite end of the lines up top and pull the whole assembly out where you can easily access the bolt that holds the lines to the top of the compressor. Since the system will need to be vacuumed down anyway there is no harm in opening the other end of the lines. ... show more

    • All the parts needed, very good deal. Fit and worked like OEM.
I changed the compressor, and parts myself in 2006 f150 with 120k miles. My compressor was leaking and probably did not need to change air dryer, orifice, etc. but for $30-$40 more then compressor itself, its better to change everything and not chance it. Trick for air-dryer change, take out battery and battery box. This allows the air dryer bracket to drop in easier and push the o-rings into the firewall. Trick for compressor, use a swivel ratchet or very small 1/4" ratchet...removing bolt from the compressor where 2 ac lines enter is hard, then you have to reinstall it. But DIY saves about $600 or more. Been using this kit for about month in over 100deg weather, works good. ... show more

    • parts (dryer) won't fit
I have the compressor installed but the dryer will not fit. I could not push the tube into the fitting at the firewall so I called a mechanic friend and he and his helper could not either. The tube is a few thousands larger than the old one. I would like a partial refund but since I am not returning anything (there is no point in returning the dryer, it won't fit anything else) I don't have much hope. I will get a new dryer locally in the morning. ... show more
