  • Excellent AC compressor! Temperature readings of 39°F from dash vent! Thrilled!
******You will need to properly evacuate the AC system of refrigerant by a qualified/certified AC tech before you begin to make any AC repairs. Death or injury could result if you don't have the ac system properly/correctly evacuated before you begin work on the system. Installed this ac compressor on my 2005 Tacoma 4.0 V6. When you disconnect the lines from the compressor, put a paper towel in the opening of the lines, or a correctly sized cap to place over the opening of the ac lines, because after you remove the compressor, you will want to clean the flat surface of the ac lines where the washer/o-ring is placed. Make sure to get it really clean and be careful to not put any scatches or gouges into the seal surface of the ac line/tube. One note* These are not traditional o-rings used on the 2nd generation Tacoma. These are metal washers with the nitrile seals embedded/attached onto the metal washer. So you will definitely need to order these as well, and they come in a kit for the 2nd gen Tacoma. Another note* Is a heads up that you will need to tighten the compressor line bolts according to factory torque spec. Then pull a vacuum, close off the ac manifold gauges, and wait 10 or 15 min to make sure the vacuum holds. If the vacuum holds then you are ready to pull a deep vacuum on the system. If the vacuum doesn't hold then you will have to tighten the ac line bolts some more, for example an 1/8 turn at a time until you get the vacuum to hold. I wasn't sure if this compressor came with oil, so I emailed the company that I purchased it from, while I waited on the return email, I decided to give them a call. The person which I spoke to said it came with oil. But when I received the return email they said it didn't come with oil. Well it does come with oil, BUT get a bottle of PAG46 oil, and pour out the oil crom the new compressor into a clean measuring cup, and make sure it has the required 4.5 oz (iirc), you can reuse the oil poured out from the compressor, add some if you need to. Also, make sure to put some PAG46 oil on the seals before you install them, this helps the seals, to seat/seal properly. I've had this installed for approximately a week, and so far its working excellent. I measured the output temperature, from the vents in the dash area, and I got a temp reading of 39°F, and that was on 90-95° days. So I am thrilled with this compressor. Its a pretty straight forward process. And make sure to replace the drier as well. Hope this helps ... show more

Fit my Toyota Tacoma 2005 with no issues. Still need to charge my lines to see if it can pump as well as I hope.

  • Works as well as OEM. Time will tell how reliable.
So far so good. I would have replaced with another OEM except the original factory units don't seem to have a great reliability record. I purchased this instead. It was fairly straightforward (but not particularly pleasant) to replace. I needed to loosen and drop the front sway bar to allow space to get the old one out and new compressor in. Remove speed sensor from old and install in new. Replace oil in new compressor with proper PAG oil about 160 cc's if I recall. Make sure you buy the oil and line seals before starting this job. Before replacing I had the a/c drained at a local shop. Once the new compressor was installed, I took truck back to local shop and they checked it for leaks and refilled with R134. So far it works as well as the original. It has only been in service a short time and winter is here so it won't get a real workout until next summer. I'll try to report back then and if all is well give it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Great Price!
I installed this about 1 month ago with no problems, system runs quietly. I drained the shipping oil and replaced with half the systems PAG 46 oil, gave 10 turns then torgueed it down. I had access to a Snap-on ac machine which made it very easy to evacuate, dry and charge the system correctly, also replaced the entire condenser, as a precaution. Saved me nearly 1600$ as apposed to taking it to a shop. ... show more

  • the price was one third, that other venders wanted. it works wonderful!
i had the UAC A/C COMPRESSOR installed, and i am enjoying being cool in my TACOMA once again. very happy with this product, and it didn't cost the high price of other vendors. it was cheaper to go brand new, rather than used! THANK YOU!
