1st tape failed
The first tape worked for a couple labels then became tangled up. I had to throw it out and put in a new one. Waiting to see if it works better.

Crisp, Durable Labeling for Around the House
I picked up this 5-Pack of Compatible TZe-231 Label Maker Tapes to tackle a massive organization project, sorting through my garage storage bins, kitchen pantry jars, and office file folders. Right out of the box, the plastic cartridges feel properly weighted and snap into my P-touch machine with a reassuring click, matching the exact shape of the original branded cassettes. The plastic housing feels solid and stable, which gave me immediate peace of mind that the delicate internal ribbon wouldn't unravel or bind up during printing. Since I am right in the middle of labeling everything this summer, I've been putting the printed strips through standard daily use. The stiff, split-plastic backing makes it incredibly easy to snap and peel the protective layer off with my fingernails without folding or damaging the corners of the label. When stuck down onto plastic bins and smooth glass jars, the smooth, glossy laminate surface wipes clean easily and keeps the bold black text looking sharp and completely smudge-free, even when handling the containers with damp hands. The strong adhesive underside also holds the edges completely flat against the curved surfaces of my storage tubs, preventing that annoying peeling or curling that usually happens in warm weather. The main issue I've run into so far involves the initial feeding process before printing. On my very first print run, the internal tape bunched up slightly inside the machine's cutter slot because the ribbon had a tiny bit of slack inside the cartridge right out of the package. I quickly learned that I have to manually turn the small plastic gear counterclockwise to tighten the ribbon before sliding a new cartridge into the machine. Skipping this quick step means risking a jammed tape that wastes a few inches of material right from the start.
