Looks just like the OEM side mirror, except this one has a metal frame to support the mirror which to me is a PLUS!. It also came with the indicator light which was awesome. If you are thinking about mixing parts such as the light, cover from this mirror with the OEM it would fit however you may have to cut/shave off some plastic for everything to fit just right. It was new and correct mirror for VW. The only reason I gave a 1 star is that the picture present a black mirror what I was looking for but in fact it was grey color ready to paint. Because of it I had to return it.

This replacement mirror is exactly what was needed for my wife's car. It costs a fraction of what the VW dealership wanted or what an auto body shop was asking for a part off a junked car (if they could find one). The only minor drawback is that you have to paint it yourself to match your vehicle. But that's no big deal to get a can of matching spray paint.
