Have quite a few miles on these nice snowshoes and they work pretty well. I just have a hard time sometimes keeping them on. Very easy to get off and great floatation. Most I've sunk is about a foot or so in the really deep yet soft stuff. Its March 10th in the foothills of the Centennial Mountain range in Idaho and its snowing and blowing hard here. Made it to the warming shed and back with no problems. Comfortable enough and sturdy. Better than wife's snowshoes of another brand. She will look to Yukon Charlie next time.

I’ve owned and loved these snowshoes for a decade so when my daughter needed some I didn’t hesitate to buy them for her. They are by far the easiest to get on and off in my experience. The women’s wilderness 25 model is unavailable so I ordered the men’s. Except for color, I can’t see a difference. These snow shoes have given me that feeling i used to get as a kid playing in the snow. They fit perfect (25"-I'm 5 foot ten 185) I can go over downed trees and stone walls with ease due to these being shorter than my previous shoes. They grip beautifully and the binding is a cinch. I live in NE Minnesota within a stone's throw of the Canadian border. Winters are long, snow is deep, and very little is flat. It was about time for an upgrade of snowshoes. My old Tubbs Sierras continued to do the job, but I was looking for something that might accommodate mukluks without tearing the mukluks apart. Enter the Tubbs Wilderness snowshoes. I tried them with mukluks, and I might add a bit odf padding (those old foam sleeping pads come to mind), but I think they will work. Lightweight footwear with snowshoes in deep snow wood be a game changer. OK, the shoes. I’m 5’10” and 155 pounds, and selected the 30 inch snowshoes, as I opted for more Flotation. They are easy off, just hit the latch and slide your foot out, and a bit tougher on, as perhaps the “storage memory” in the rear bindings portion will relax over time. The shoes are extremely easy to adjust. As I found these later in the season, the snow is still relatively deep, yet, wet and sloppy enough to give these shoes a good test. They are a nice lightweight shoe. The Cleats/crampons inspire confidence on climbs and descents. The upward angled rear portion of the shoe allows one to take longer strides without dragging the back of the shoe. I really like that feature. I’ve not used the riser incorporated in the shoe for long steep ascents. I have no complaints about the Tubbs Wilderness Snowshoe, and would encourage anybody interested in snowshoes to give them a try. ... show more
