In my adventures to replace a ball joint and hub assembly on my 2013 avalanche, I decided that while I had the front end apart, I might as well replace most of the steering and suspension parts. The OEM tie rods on the passenger and driver side, while still sturdy, were likely to start going out any year now, so they were added to the list of extraneous items to swap out. These were slightly more bulky and solid than the original tie rods that were from the factory. I found that the removal and install were much easier to deal with using a long socket style tie rod removal tool that I got from Harbor Freight. The only complaint I had with that process was how easy it was for the crows foot to slip forward and backward. So being able to maintain proper contact and get the 111 ft lbs of torque asked for within the specs on the truck (or thereabouts) while not damaging the rest of the steering components was a little more challenging than I had hoped. The set came with the lube to apply to the ball joint of the inner rod. Would have been nice to have a boot cover and clamp to replace the crimped style clamp from the factory in the set. Not the end of the world. Reused the old boot cover and a thinner 3" radiator clamp to secure it. Outer tie rod screwed on like a champ. Nice and smooth. Counted the grooves of the inner rod to get close to the proper positioning. I knew I was going in for an alignment after messing with all of the parts, so I wasn't worried about precision. You could also count rotations of the outer rod and get a similar result. Tightened down the bolt to the outer rod, and that part of the job was done. Seems very secure. Very sturdy. And hoping this lasts the remaining life of the truck. Will update should anything happen to these. ... show more

Easy to install, fits just like the OEM. I’ve had both the inner and outer tie rods for almost a week now and I have yet to go for alignment (I’ve been sick) but the car tracks straight and doesnt pull when doing highway speeds or braking hard. I have a 2016 4Runner Limited. I had them professionally installed. You can feel the play in my steering wheel if I hit a rough road or a dirt road. If I’m on the interstate and have to slow down, you can feel my steering wheel shaking. I had them looked at, and yes, it is the tie rods.
