  • Great MTB shorts!!
Size: 34 Color: Solid Iron
I always read through a few sites that review MTB products I'm interested in purchasing. These shorts got some great reviews and since I'm really happy with the TLD Skyline Jerseys that I already own I thought I would buy a pair of their shorts. After using these shorts I have to say that they are even better than expected. Before purchasing I noticed a common theme from other Amazon reviews saying the inner shorts run small so I went one size up and simply used the velcro to tighten the waist area of the outer shell. I have been MTBing for 20+ years and have always worn normal everyday shorts that are loose in the thighs. I guess you could say from a fashion point that I have never been a fan of the tight fitting "biker" shorts. This is my first pair of true biking shorts. The major advantage of using biking shorts that I just discovered and have missing all of these years is the inner padding. Wow what a difference the padding makes...especially on 15+ mile rides!! I love these shorts because you get the advantage of padding in all the right spots from the inner shorts combined with the great looking and very functional outer shell. If you find these on sale like I did I would highly recommend grabbing a pair!! ... show more

  • My favorite pair of MTB shorts so far!
So I am a gear-a-holic. I love MTB and I love MTB "stuff". I always find myself searching all of the closeouts and outlets to find cool stuff to try, and when I came across these on sale here, I was stoked! This was my first pair of TLD Skyline shorts, and definitely will be my go-to in the future. The material is a little thicker than some other MTB-specific shorts I have, but so far in the couple of rides I have used them on, they are not hot. They definitely feel more sturdy that others that I have, but I expect that will manifest in a bit less breathability. They are cut loosely, and easily fit knee pads underneath. I would venture to say the inseam on these are on the longer side of the spectrum, but they are by no means anywhere near "jorts". The zippers seem very sturdy, and the velcro waist adjustment is handy. I wear a 36 in "regular" pants, and after looking at the TLD website for a sizing guide, I decided to go with 38's. I have noticed a trend in MTB clothing that seems to run a size or two small in my experience. A 36 in Zoic is an XXL! I will say though that these seem to be very true to size. I find them a Little big, but I am able to cinch them up with the velcro adjustment, and I think I like the roomier feel of a slightly bigger size. I would be tempted to try a 36 if I ever find them in store, as it seems with these specific model of shorts, they are surprisingly accurately sized, BUT... The liner does seem to run "small". I could see how a size, say, 36 SHELL would be perfect, but a size 36 LINER would be too tight. I have also noticed this with other brands as well. It can pay to just buy the shell and liner separately if you run into this issue. All in all, I really like these, and would buy again without question. ... show more

  • My go-to shorts
Size: 34 Regular Color: Brushed Camo Military
I have a couple pairs of these now. When catching them on sale you can’t beat the value for fit, appearance and performance compared to many others. I ride in these all day with no issues, and the included liner is a huge bonus. My only gripe is the colors online are way off from what they actually are. The camo is very green compared to the gray they show online. But that’s a very minor gripe. ... show more

  • Great shorts
Size: 32 Regular Color: Solid Black
I wear a size medium and ordered a 32 in waist. I think they might run a little bigger, so I’m returning them for a 30 in waist.

  • Who do these fit?
Size: 36 Regular Color: Brushed Camo Military
I really like these shorts as far as looks. However thats where it stops. I originally ordered a 34 waist. Too small and too tight for the liner. The over short was almost a fit. Sent them back & vendor refunded no problem. All good. Ordered a pair in 36. The liner is just funky, tight and low in the waist and crotch. OK, get a 38 you you say. Well that would be fine except for the over short in the 36 is considerably too large. I ill still wear the overshort, but cant do the liner. Maybe a 38 liner and a 36 short. Maybe theyre tagged wrong. But again, nothing bad to say of the vendor. Not their fault. ... show more

  • Quality pair of mountain biking shorts
Size: 36 Regular Color: Solid Black
I needed some mountain biking shorts and did some research to find a goood pair of inexpensive shorts. Revues said these were good, but one on the cons was that they were not ventilated enough and could be hot. I live in Texas where the heat is in the triple digits for long periods of time during the summer and I don’t really notice it. These shorts check all the boxes I was looking for in a pair of baggies. I will buy more of these in the future. ... show more

  • Comfortable MTB Shorts
I bought these shorts for mountain biking of course! They are light weight and comfortable and ride well. I bought the shorts with the liner, which is also a help when sitting in the saddle for more than a quick ride. I am not one to use knee pads, just old fashion crash and burn, no Red Bull Rampage type stuff for me, but I think knee pads would fit comfortably with these shorts if you are more self protective than me. The only functional pockets are two zip pockets where you'd normally put your hands in the front of the shorts. I store my extra stuff in my little hydration pack/back pack so this works fine for me. If you want more pockets find some other shorts. I'd go with these again. Pretty comfy. ... show more

  • Excellent MTB shorts
Size: 34 Color: Solid Iron
I tend to have trouble finding shorts and pants that fit well - most items tend to be too tight in the seat or crotch area (makes it uncomfortable to sit down or squat). I tried several other pairs of MTB shorts (including Zoic, and POC), then gave up and wore basketball shorts for several years, until I found these! These Troy Lee skyline shorts fit perfectly, and don’t restrict my movement at all. They’re lighter and more comfortable than my basketball shorts, and don’t snag on the seat. I was a little hesitant due to the price tag, but these are well worth it. ... show more
