I really like this thing I know it is for a trolling motor but I got it to use for locksport/various locksport projects. And initially I was going to bolt it to my table so I can have a taller standing vice that would be more ergonomically suited to me and it would work great for that purpose but it's been even more handy unbolted and when I need it to be stationary for the purposes of picking it's easily pinched between my knees and it's a lightweight so it stays just fine. Also it's a heck of a clamp and its own right! Getting a lot of use out of just the clamping function of it already the whole thing is very well built the base shaft and clamp pieces are all made out of metal the ball upon which it pivots/swivels feels like it's got some kind of rubber coating on it it could possibly be a plastic ball but I truly don't believe it is I'm pretty sure that it is some type of metal and it has a rubberized coating on the outside so that it maintains position and it works very well. Again my clamp will never see the inside of a boat but I have myself before LOL I am familiar with what it is intended to be used with and it will for sure work for that purpose and I do believe it will do the job very well. And then it comes with the hardware to mount it if you would like, it has screws but then say for somebody like me who's enjoying it being unmounted it also has nuts and bolts so I could drill some holes in my workbench and two bolts would be more than sufficient for my purposes easily go from stationary to mobile clamp also the shaft of the clamp is spring loaded which really seems to aid and pivoting from one position to the other without loosening the grip on the ball joint. Very nice product and in my opinion, at a very good price 👍🏻

I haven't mounted this yet but it does fit the shaft of my Ulterra. I'm still trying to pick the best place for the base to mount. What I can tell you is that the parts are well made and fit well. I hope to complete my installation this week.

This is designed for marine use so the rust proof stainless steel is appreciated. I'm using this as a clampable tool mount in my shop. These ball mounts have so many uses. This one just happened to be the perfect size for my needs. Good quality no plastic balls to break off, all aluminum.

It has always bothered me that when my trolling motor is up and I am driving the boat - the head of the trolling motor bounces. This has been driving my crazy. I didn't think twice when I saw this one - I ordered it. It is well crafted out of very good materials. I am not sure how I am going to mount it at this point. I think I will attach it to my railing and see how it does before I permanently mount it on the boat. Once I have mounted it and take the boat out, I will update my review. As far as the price goes, it is reasonable. **My rating system: 5 stars means it exceeded my expectations, 4 stars met my expectations, 3 stars falls short of my expectations, 2 stars is considerably below my expectations and 1 star not recommending product

Wow, this mount is great. I have an 18' bay boat and often have a rough ride to and from the islands due to the waves. During these times my trolling motor base takes a beating. This trolling motor is a vital piece of equipment on my boat and I love being able to easily secure it down. Keeping my motor from bounching also helps to protect my boat where the base is secured. This mount seems to be well made and it was easy to install.
