  • First time incubating eggs, it was easy to use!
Style: No Automatic Refill Fitting
This was our first time incubating eggs. We put 18 quail eggs in the incubator and set up the egg turners. I marked all my eggs with an X and placed them X side up to make sure the turners were working. Everything worked great. We purchased and added a Mini Hygrometer Thermometer and placed it in the incubator with the eggs right on top of the turner to regulate the humidity. This was a great incubator for monitoring temp, but didn't consider monitoring the humidity when ordering. The instructions say to fill the middle chamber with water, for quail eggs it only took a few drops of water to get the humidity perfect. I reached out to seller to confirm this and they responded immediately with helpful info! Definitely set up the incubator several days before to figure out how much water for the perfect humidity level and how often to add. I kept a chart of when i added and what the level was at and that seemed to help remind me when to check and add water on the remaining days of incubation. Our hatch was successful we had 11 total hatch! ... show more

  • Does not have same problems my other (expensive) incubators had. Very nice! Will buy more.
Style: No Automatic Refill Fitting
I got 3 different brands of incubator and this is the best (and least expensive) of the three. I got the two top-rated brands and this one. It does not have a humidity sensor or day countdown, otherwise it is great. No excessive wasted space inside that needs to be heated, turner assembly is well constructed and works without jerky-movements that jostle the eggs. The fan is relatively quiet. The candler is bright. I put the egg on the built-in candler and shine another light in from the top to be able to see inside the egg even better. Heat is distributed evenly in the incubator, no hot/cold spots like in one of my other bators that also has a fan. The temps have been accurate and stable (unusual for an incubator to come with an accurate temperature monitor.) No annoying wires attaching the lid to the turner (which makes adding water or checking eggs a hassle on a different incubator.) The motor and fan are above the eggs, making it easier to keep hatching debris / new chick poop out of them. The lid is see-thru so easy to see eggs and watch the turner operate. The lid is not that flimsy plastic that warps with heat (incubators should be designed to tolerate the heat they generate - duh.) It doesn't feel as germ-hiding, dent-prone, and rednecky as using a Styrofoam incubator. The artwork on the lid is adorable. I have my most expensive chicken and Turkey eggs in this incubator right now, because I trust it more than the other two I have. The Styrofoam packing is designed so that it can be used for extra insulation without interfering with the operation of the machine. I will be replacing my others with more of this kind - everything about it is nicer. It is smaller capacity but the price makes it less expensive to buy 3 of these to replace an inferior 32-egg incubator. Not having a day counter is slightly disappointing - I make charts on Microsoft Excel that tell me which days to candle and which days to start lock-down so the day counter is not really necessary - but it would be easier to keep track of things when I eventually will have 3 or 4 of these machines going at once. Update: I just received my 2nd of this kind of incubator. They updated the users manual to be easier to understand. Mr. Wang from their customer service has followed up with me to make sure I am satisfied with the product, obviously I am. It was nice to see they care so much about the product. I raise endangered and rare breed birds so losses due to incubator failure are not an option. I have endangered breed turkey eggs in one now - they are on day 12 and developing 100%. ... show more

  • First time great experience
Style: No Automatic Refill Fitting
I got this to try and hatch our first batch of eggs from our own backyard chickens. The directions were a bit confusing to figure out at first, however the overall operation was easy and to the point. Egg turner worked great, temp was consistent. The humidity did build up SO much at one point or maybe I laid the lid funny one time and water collected in the digital view where the temp/menu is displayed. No humidity monitor, I just trusted the water levels suggested in the book and that seemed okay. I didn’t like the holes in the bottom of the tray at each corner. If I moved it with the water inside, it leaked out of the bottom some. The dark lid was a little hard to see through at time as the humidity got higher, but still doable. I was able to fit 15 chicken eggs with the turn tray still in. I only had 3 fertilized eggs develop out of the batch and 2 of them hatched. I was pleased with that. We love our cute chicks we hatched out of it! ... show more

  • Does not regulate temperature.
Style: No Automatic Refill Fitting
I ordered 2 incubators for hatching rare quail eggs. Both were very easy to set up but the automatic turner was a little more difficult. It is hard to regulate the temperature and humidity. I lost 1/2 of my eggs because there is a 10 degree difference from one side to the other (the left side is hotter on both incubators). It was also super hard to keep the humidity where i needed it to be. My return window has closed or i would have returned them. I am now out of around $140 for 2 incubators and around another $100 for the wasted eggs. Do better research and get a better incubator. ... show more
