  • Some good views that make you think another way about common issues.
I don't consider myself a novice or an expert, but someone who is always learning. Despite some saying that all of the things in this book are things that you should already know if you are showing and handling dogs, there are quite a few things in here that are surprising and good tips. Yes, if you study dogs some of this is going to seem repetitive, but with someone who has had so much experience, there is bound to be things that are useful. And like it is said in the book, everyone starts at the beginning. It doesn't hurt to keep going over your basics, either, especially since dog science changes so rapidly. ... show more

  • Even better than the first!
Pat has done it again! The tremendous wealth of information that was in the first edition, only bigger and better! The skeletal images are a fantastic addition and all of the extra material contributes enough to make it well worth it. I loved the first edition and this one is even better. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about purebred dogs - and even for someone who is just interested in canine sports like agility or flyball. There is so much structural wisdom in these pages that it is a benefit to all who read it. A++ in my grade book! ... show more

  • Good reading for those new to aquiring a Show Dog
Excellent detail on selecting a show puppy and how to keep it in show form. I may have been lost if I had read this book before purchasing a show puppy, but after having a "Show Dog" awhile, I found it very informative.

  • Know about Show Dogs
This woman knows more, and can teach better, than anyone I have met. I love this book. She lectured for my dog club recently. I am sad I could not attend. She has a very well rounded view of how all breeds are structured. I will follow her writings and doings, hopefully to see her one day.

  • Great help!
Just took this with me to pick out a puppy. I have also been to two seminars with Pat Hastings, have her puppy puzzle video, and studied and referred to this. I feel quite confident that I was able to use the knowledge gained and select the right pup for from the litter!
