The Traxxas 2984 charger/battery completer pack contains a powerful 2926x 8.4V 3000Mah NiMH hump pack battery and a 2969 2-amp AC wall charger. The AC 2-amp NiMH fast charger uses a wall outlet to charge your 5-7 Cell (6 - 8.4V) NiMH batteries quickly and efficiently. The powerful 2-amp output makes quick work of charging and a status LED informs you when your charging is complete. The 2969 charger is for NiMH batteries only and should never be used to charge lipo batteries. Use Traxxas stock and hop-up replacement parts to get the most out of your Traxxas RTR vehicles. This product is made from high quality materials and designed for long-lasting performance. This is replacement hardware for use on Traxxas vehicles; consult your user's manual for exact parts listings.

I bought this battery and charger for a kid that is just getting started in the hobby. I wanted something safe and simple for him. NIMH batteries are notoriously safe and indestructible. I had my doubts, but this battery performs very well with a brushed motor Traxxas bandit. It has plenty of acceleration and speed for a lightweight 2wd brushed motor. The charger doesn't have any buttons, just plug the battery in and go. I did notice it shuts off a little early and will undercharge the battery. The solution is to simply unplug the battery from the charger and plug it back in. It will then top the battery off. If you're looking to safely power a small, brushed system on a 2wd, then this is the system for you. Most kids aged 7 and up could safely use this system. Run time is about 15 minutes. ... show more

I came across my son's Traxxas RC Rustler VXL from years ago that I could not find the charger for. Fortunately I ordered this 'kit' that came with a charger and a battery. The new battery looks identical to the old, except for the plug ends. Picture shows the differences, end on the left is the new. So the old battery would not plug into the new charger. But the new battery does fit to plug into the car. So at least I have one battery (the new) I can charge and use with the car. Why would Traxxas change the ends, not sure, other than to force you to buy a new battery to fit the charger. But runs great, a lot of fun! ... show more

    • NiMH batteries don't last long
The charger. That thing is great. The NiMH battery? Not so much. It lasted a few times and it's already dead. We've owned it a year, but only used it a few times due to other car part issues(it's the kid's...) But the battery died too soon. Need to invest in the lithium I guess. I'd recommend investing in lithium batteries. ... show more
