This is a really nice size to use as a purse/small day pack while traveling. I used it every day of my trip for a few weeks. The black looks nice enough to get by in Singapore, but is casual enough for Bali. I knew I was going to stick out as a tourist in SE Asia, so I figured a slim backpack with some anti theft features might be practical. To be honest I was overly cautious and never even came close to needing those features, but its a nice bag nonetheless. It easily held a small water bottle, sarong, wallet, phones, and a few other essentials while being small and light. I purchased this product for my first trip to Italy. Because we were going into the larger cities with a high population of tourists, I was concerned about pick-pocketing. I did a bit of research but had also heard great things about Travelon products. My sister and I purchased 2 different colors (black/ turquoise lining and smoke?/Pink lining). I loved the size and look of the bag. It can be used in the daytime and evening: I love the locks on the outside pockets. They were easy to use, kept the zippers secure and the pockets were accessible. The inside zippered pocket was very deep and held many things including my portable battery, phone and passport. The main compartment held my pocket book, small cosmetic bag, a small umbrella, and 16 oz. bottle of water. For being small and flat it held a lot. The straps are not the most comfortable for carrying heavy items but the feature I was most appreciative was the strap with a hook. I recently fractured my shoulder so it was painful to utilize the straps on both shoulders. I lengthened the removable strap and used it as a crossbody bag and used it a various amount of ways: front, back and side. It is also very easy to pack as it lays flat when empty. The only negative thing I would mention is that the magnetic flap and open pocket are pointless. It would have been more functional it if was secure and/or covered the from zipper. I'm so glad I purchased this bag for sightseeing in big cities. The security features are subtle but effective, like the zippers that lock to the bag. The inside features multiple sleeves for cards. It's the perfect size to pack two small lunches, a couple of plastic water bottles, an umbrella and a packable rain jacket. I like that this bag doesn't scream tourist. It's minimalist in style and not flashy but still good quality. We spent a hefty amount of time in the pouring rain.     • My honest review after months of use.

This is my second Travelon bag, and I must say my opinion on this bag is very different from my first one. Pros: • Size wise, this bag is perfect. Big enough to keep the essentials on you, and enough extra space for a few water bottles, and e book, planner, things of that sort. • The font pocket can be “locked”. As well as the bigger main pocket. • The organization of the inside of the big pocket is great. You have a zipper pocket, and other pockets for your cards. • I purchased black, and the lining is a gorgeous teal color. Cons: • The straps slid off my shoulders easily • I am constantly readjusting the straps. I adjust and they slip and become uneven. • The strap on the left has a clasp at the end so if you are dining, you can attach it to your seat to keep it protected....however, this makes it difficult to see if your straps are even in length because the metal part on the straps don’t line up. One is higher than the other. • The BIGGEST con (for me) is the magnetic flap closure. It is NOT a strong magnet. It flops open if I have it decently filled, making the additional pocket in front of the main pocket exposed. The bag I purchased years ago has a metal closure to keep that flap closed. Based on color and style, this bag gets 5 stars. When considering specifics...I sadly have to give this bag a 3. ... show more
