This bag was perfect for a 2 1/2 week vacation, with 4 days spent in DC. Perfect size, weight, storage capacity, and theft protection. As seen in another review, I added a key ring to join the two zipper pulls so even the small outer pocket was safe. One woman checking bags at security commented on how nice of a bag it was. Considering she sees LOTS of bags, that is saying a lot. Highly recommend!

This backpack is small but mighty. It would work for a child as well as adult. Room for large wallet, sunglasses, book, sunscreen, makeup, snack, water bottle, phone and extra battery and more…the material is on the thicker side and the straps are adjustable and comfortable..anti theft features are a plus..I bought the black and teal blue one..I’m a 70 year old very active woman and get compliments when I use this pack..

I just received this so haven’t had a chance to use it. Going on a trip to Europe and wanted something small to carry with me. Having some back issues, I wanted a small backpack instead of something over one shoulder. I attached a picture with measurements. It’s lightweight. It’ll definitely carry my wallet, sunglasses, phone, water, small umbrella. Pretty much anything I’d need. It has some slots for credit cards, as well as a slot for a phone or passport, and another large zippered pocket. I took a star off just because the straps are mesh, which I knew, but not sure they are cut resistant (not going to try and find out). And the lock on the main compartment seems cheap. It works but I have another Travelon bag and that locking mechanism just “seems” sturdier. I also wish the front pocket had a way to lock it but I’ll just put nonessentials in there, like my chapstick. Addendum: I used this on my recent trip. It was great-held my wallet, passport, travel umbrella, water bottle, scarf, beanie. Held a lot. Even though it’s smaller, I still had to check it at some museums. My biggest disappointment was in the straps. They were fine but uncomfortable at times as there is no padding. And the metal thing for lengthening or shortening the straps happened to sit near my armpits so I could feel,them. I wanted to carry my pack higher on my back, not lower. And the straps started curling at the bottom of the pack. Not a big deal. I was really happy with all it could carry so that outweighed the unhappiness with the straps. Another update-2024: I thought I was taking all the precautions. Used this bag. Had the big compartment closed with the clasp lock. Had my wallet and passport inside the zippered pocket. Got my wallet stolen in Toledo, Spain. Luckily, they left the passport. Was warned about pickpockets. Guess I let my guard down for a second. But had this on my back. As I had wanted a back pack type “purse”. It’s great in all other aspects. Carries a lot. Will now only carry it in front.

I really like this backpack because it is just a perfect fit. I am impressed with all the features and if I was going on a vacation especially overseas I would enjoy the security features that Travelon is known for. I have over the years purchased some of their travel bags, and although they said those bags could be used for a backpack, I never found them comfortable. This is a real backpack and I use it for everyday because it frees up my hands and I find it very compact. It has a one way zipper (left to right) instead of two zippers on other backpacks so you always know whether the backpack is closed. The straps are soft so they fit on my shoulders and don't scratch like leather straps do. Love it and i got the peacock color as well for a backup!

I love this bag! I've brought it with me on a few trips now. It's lightweight, comfortable, and has some great anti-theft features. The one thing I wish it did have was a clasp zipper on the front pocket, but I am glad it's at a least on the big pocket! It was very helpful for Europe and easy to swing around and carry in front in more crowded areas. I was able to fit important documents, wallet, 32oz water bottle, a jacket, and smaller souvenirs in it. Definitely recommend!
