I've purchased other Travelon bags so I know it's a great brand, and when I was taking an international trip a few years ago, I knew I wanted another one. I've taken this backpack on so many trips the last few years and it still looks new- it is incredibly durable. It has several locks if you want to use them, I love the water bottle holder, and it has a ton of room in all the compartments. It's very functional & I know I'll be using it for years to come. I originally bought this for a trip to Europe. I liked it so much that I now use it for work travel as well. It carries a small laptop or tablet very comfortably. There is padding against the very back that supports the tablet and protects it and your back as well. It is very roomy, I have plenty of room for work documents, power cords and personal items. An added plus is that the zippers all lock so it's very secure when it's on your back. It is very comfortable to carry, easy on the shoulders and balanced very well. I'm very happy with this backpack..

This is a great backpack. This company thought of everything when it was made. It would be tricky for a thief to open this. The outside has some type of mesh which stops people from slashing. The bigger hole anyone can make would be too small to steal anything from inside. Lots of space for a medium size laptop (any MacBook or regular size laptop would work - you can fit about 3 surfaces in it... if you have that many). We also had our kids Kindle Fire and all chargers. Even then we had room for kids change of clothes. It is not too small, not too big. Husband and I wore it and it was comfortable. We were all over Europe with it. I can't say good things about this product. I would buy it again.

I purchased this prior to a week-long trip to Central America, with two main considerations in mind: using it as my carry-on (putting my laptop and other electronics, plus emergency change-of-clothes and toiletries, inside, so as not to be in my larger, checked bag), and for all my exploring/hiking once I arrived. Basically, this bag saw A LOT of use in one week--being lugged all over ruins, going through torrential downpours, PLUS four flights--and all in all, it proved worthy to the tasks! Pros: 1.It fit the best of a half-dozen or so nice backpacks I tested out beforehand. (I have a tiny frame--5'4" and 95 lbs--so most larger backpacks are REALLY uncomfortable, hitting too low on the small of my back, with straps too wide for my very narrow shoulders (and often too long to be adjusted enough, vertically); this one was fairly comfy, at the maximum adjustment. 2. In downpours, everything inside got *slightly* wet/damp, but overall I'd say this bag can handle light rain with no issues. (Next time, I'll have a waterproof pack cover with me.) 3. This bag has a great assortment of pockets and dividers, which I found very useful. 4. It's quite attractive, although solid black isn't really my favorite; easy to use as a work piece. 5. The security features (anti-slash panels & straps, RFID areas, and locking zipper pulls) give some piece of mind. 6. Light-grey interior linings aid in seeing into the deep recesses. 7. Nicely-padded back and straps, WITH MESH on the backsides! (I've had packs that weren't mesh, and they get HOT. These breathe quite nicely.) 8. Has a (small) strap on the back for hooking over the handle of your roller luggage. 9. Dual water bottle/umbrella pockets on sides, that zip away cleanly when not in use. Cons: 1. It doesn't sit up on its own. Actually, it pretty much tips over no matter what I prop it against, so... something to consider. 2. It's ALL BLACK. (Fine for everyday use, but NOT ideal for outdoorsy usage. Mine now looks permanently weathered on bottom, after carrying it around ancient ruins for three days.) 3. Lack of a sternum strap. (I ended up having to hike my thumbs through the straps to put the weight more where it should be--when I didn't need my hands for climbing, etc.!--so I'll definitely use a third-party sternum strap, in future.) 4. Lack of a phone pocket anywhere on the side or back of the pack. (When I had pants or shorts with large enough pockets, that wasn't a big deal, but when I didn't, it was an inconvenience to take the pack off--or get my boyfriend to help--when I needed to fish my phone out.) In all, though, this is definitely one of the better-fitting, versatile backpacks I've used, so I'm giving it a thumbs up.

Bought this in exchange for a much smaller bag. This bag was great for our travels in Europe, especially Barcelona. I felt my belongings were safe and secure. Wish they had other colors than the basic black and grey.

I bought this bag in 2016, a few years after I graduated from college and needed something to carry my laptop for traveling. I used it for every short trip that required just 2-3 days of packing for 7 years. The only piece that broke/fell apart was the inner mesh of the small side pocket because it got caught in the zipper and ripped a tiny hole. I got rid of the backpack today because my niece is going to college and my husband told her she could have it without asking me first. I will probably buy another.

Bought this for trip to Italy. I'd researched a lot to find a secure backpack as I'd read so much about pickpockets & thieves in Italy (Rome specifically). I believe this backpack combined with my vigilance prevented me from getting ripped off when traveling around Rome. The zipper clips are a bit of a pain to open, but definitely worth the extra security. It has a lot of capacity and is still comfortable when fully loaded.

We were headed to Paris and Barcelona- both have a reputation for avid pick pocket activity, thus the purchase. It appears that someone did try to slice through the backpack but the fiber didn’t allow for a breech so contents were all safe! Worth every penny!
