I am a big guy around 250 pounds, and I don't have a lot of space in my man cave so I needed a comfortable chair while play my games but I also need it to shove it in a corner when I didn't need it. So folding camping chairs fit the bill perfectly. However, I went through three other chairs before this one because they were made out of cheap plastic parts. They were rated for like 500 to 800 pounds, but they hardly last. However, I had this one over a year and it hasn't shown any signs of failing. Great construction and it holds my fat butt with no issues. It's comfortable and strong. Great buy if you're plus sized and need to find a comfortable folding chair. ... show more

It is what I expected....came promptly... well built I weigh about 250. Some chairs are okay... some not. This chair is way overbuilt (that is a compliment). Unlike most all folders, it has very little flex when I get on and off it... It is firm, stable, yet does not look much different than a normal folder of this type. It is not made of aluminum... I imagine it will corrode if used at a beach etc.. having said that, the coating on the metal seems decent on the outside. It is not made of aluminum... so it is also heavy.. there is an extra set of bars... a strap or two more.. to me, the heavy is worth it for the durability and additional weight capacity. I gave it a four bc I wish it came in happy bright summer colors.. I would buy it again in a minute ... show more

I haven't had the chair that long, but so far it is very sturdy. The front is a little uncomfortable because it digs into your legs, but on other hand what camping style chair rated for any amount of weight doesn't a little. It does not dig in enough I cant sit in it. Was just in the chair for 2 hours at a softball game with no issues. I am thinking a chair pillow or a foot rest would solve the issues 100%. It is still a 5 star in my mind even with that minor issues because it truly is sturdy. I am a big guy (just shy of 400 lbs) and using the arms to get up is no issue they do not bent or seem weak. Sitting in the chair I feel supported, Iv sat in plenty of other camping chairs that the whole time I am thinking "Wonder how long till I'm laying on the ground because the legs give out" I never thought that with this chair. ... show more

From the product description 24" seat height. Actual 19" at sides. 15" in the middle. Before you sit in it... Unfortunately this was the most important selling feature for me. I bought this chair because it was advertised as a 24" seat height. I have bad knees - a torn ACL and PCL. When I sat in it, my tush was very far below my knees which made it extremely hard to get out of this chair. It wasn't even that comfortable to sit in, the arm rests are very low. I'm tall - 5'10" They were so low that for me to use them I had to slouch way down in the chair. Still not comfortable. I wouldn't buy this chair or recommend it to anyone. Chair weight is advertised as 10.78 pounds. Actual 13.6 pounds. That is a significant difference. This is one heavy chair and I would not want to carry it around. My chair came pre-broken at one of the front corners. The very cheap bolt had sheared right through the connecting piece on the frame. I don't really understand how this happened because if it had broken due to the stress of someone sitting in it, the split wouldn't have gone from the middle to the bottom, it would have gone the other way. Other dimensions from the product description: Open dimensions 23x38x36. Actual 23" square seated area. 35" from top of chair back to floor. 38" armrest to armrest. Closed dimensions 5x5x39 Not too far off if you cinch it together with bungee cords. Otherwise it is aobut 7x8x35. ... show more

I'm a big guy at 450+ lbs. We needed a camp chair for me to go to Flaming Gorge for Memorial Day weekend and found this and saw the capacity rating and reviews and decided to try it. It was worth every penny. I have used it for the camping trip and numerous times since for various events outside like cookouts and parades and such over the entire summer. It has held up well to my heavy weight and still feels sturdy and ready for more outdoor adventure. We keep this in the car a lot in case I need to rest while out geocaching. The only thing and I mean only thing that is somewhat of a 'con' is it is difficult to get back in the bag, but I think that just goes along with the territory of bag chairs. Everyone I know eventually quits bothering with the bag and just brings the chair. Maybe one day I will too, but since this is heavy duty and not the lightest thing in the world, it is very handy to be able to just carry it in the bag over my shoulder. If you need a chair with a high weight capacity or just want a travel chair that isn't a piece of junk and doesn't feel sturdy, you won't be disappointed with this product. ... show more

I've only used it once so far, but so far so good. I'm 6'2" and 280 and it fits me fine and I was comfortable. Well after maybe half a dozen uses it broke. So no longer recommended.
