    • Forced minimalism with great craftsmanship and a frustrating money clip

After many years of carrying a "dad wallet", it was time for a change. This wallet is quite slim; if you're coming from a "dad wallet" like I was, just be aware that its design forces you to carefully consider which cards/IDs you need to carry on a daily basis. That being said, it does hold a surprisingly high number of cards. I currently have seven credit/debit cards and four IDs in the wallet, and that seems to be at or near the wallet's capacity. The wallet itself is well made. I've had it for almost a year and it still looks as good as the day I bought it. The pockets are still tight and hold my items without me having to worry that they're going to fall out. I expect that this wallet will last for many years under normal usage. My only complaint with this wallet is the money clip. The clip is way too tight. It's extremely difficult to open the clip to put more than, say, three bills under it. While I appreciate the sturdiness of the money clip, I would also appreciate it if the clip were loose enough as to where inserting/removing money didn't require a mild feat of strength. If you have any weakness in your hands, the money clip in this wallet will likely frustrate you. For this issue, I had to deduct a star from my overall rating. The wallet feels high quality and looks nice. I am coming from a minimalist non-folding wallet and this is much thicker even if it wasn't folding so I dispute the slim claim. There's simply much more material and more layers to create pockets. Most pockets can only hold one card as it is very tight. My non-folding slim leather wallet also held more cards, and 2-3 could stack in each pocket if needed, I had to pull about 6 cards out to use this new folding one. I use every slot and they get really tight when all used so it feels like it's grinding the cards and are sometimes difficult to get out. I will probably have decide on a couple more cards to leave out though I'm down to the ones I use regularly. The extra bulk is taking some getting used to but I still continue to use it and buy the next one in person to make sure it is truly slim. ... show more

Stylish, safe, pratical are pros to this wallet. Cons: holds minimal cards, no place for bills and receipts like a regular wallet. Does come with an attached money clip inside the wallet though. It's a bit different in design than my previous RIF "old school style" wallet I've used but, will learn in time to appreciate the minimalist approach this company has invested in while creating this trendy and stylish product. I have to be mindful though to button my work pants back pocket and, be careful when wearing surf shorts that have velcro vs. a zipper pocket to minimize the chance of this slim and small wallet from falling out. ... show more
