  • A favorite figure
My favorite Transformers figure I started collecting transformers around 2023, but never got this figure until today, have messing with it, it’s by far one of the best transformers I’ve handled, easily the best commander Hasbro has done for the studio series line, it’s worth the $90, the colors perfectly match the g1 cartoon, the toy overall is fun, the articulation feels slightly limited but you can cheat it with the transformation joints, it’s durable and chunky ... show more

  • Fantastic, despite the lack of inner robot
Fantastic robot mode, with just about every bit of articulation we expect from Transformers these days. Solid, thick plastic and lots of creative locking systems to hold it together in both modes. Paint scheme isn’t quite to my liking, but it’s animation accurate, and that’s the point of Studio Series. Transformation that manages to be complex, but not to the point of being a hassle, and complete with car carrying functionality and a swivel at the trailer hitch. The only thing he’s missing over the WFC trilogy figure is the inner “White Optimus Prime”, but seeing as he never did that in the cartoon, which SS86 is built on, I’m fine with it. Well worth the Commander price. ... show more

  • Incredible Ultra Magnus
A really good transformer Ultra Magnus!!! Articulation is great and alt mode is incredible. Can carry up to four cars and has many accessories from 2 guns and special effects. Worth the $90 commander price!!!

  • Such a big boy
All I can say is get this Ultra Magnus toy. This feels like a Masterpiece but better. I will start in the vehicle mode. It's the classic ultra magnus truck with a removable cab. Unfortunately the cab does not turn into a robot but looks like engineering team left that open for 3rd parties to take care of it. The robot mode is amazing and fun. The transformation is fun and satisfying. Magnus poses well, feels great and looks great. Out of the box there is some assembly for Magnus head antenna. He accessories are decent but somewhat boring, only good for posing. The gimmick is terrible as he just loses his limbs but doesn't affect the robot mode or transformation in any way, forgettable. The only issue you might encounter is that some copies might have loose shoulders like mine. IDK how to tighten that ... show more

  • A great utilitarian trukk-bot
One day on the playground, my friend said to me, "I was at the toy store and I saw a new Optimus Prime and he was white and not red and he had a different trailer and you could load it with 4 Autobot cars!" I replied, "Are you on drugs? Optimus Prime is red!" I went to the toy store the next day and my friend was absolutely right. So I bought the white Optimus Prime and brought him to the playground to verify my friend's claim to his face. Boy, was he jealous of me that I got him first. He was giving me a lot of attitude. That was back in 1986. Fast forward to 2023 and I bought this figure for my 46-year-old self. Mom let me open it before Christmas and I got to say that this guy is impressive. He's has a great resemblance to his cartoon model but a little bit more on the chunky side but that's okay. I guess because of this, Hasbro opted not to bother with the inner Optimus Prime robot which was a feature of the original toy. But don't let that deter you from using your children's food budget to pay for the privilege of displaying this on your shelf as you decide on which figure to remove from said shelf because you ran out of space. He does all the silly poses that modern robot figures do and he feels hefty. Believe me, this figure feels much better in your hands than the feel of ninety dollars of food in your family's stomachs. ... show more

  • Big chonky guy who's worth the money despite some minor QC flaws
I was quick to grab the reissue of Ultra Magnus before the MSRP got raised to new tarrif prices. While he is an amazing chonky figure, he is without some flaws. The reissue did somewhat fix the floppy shoulder joints. For mine, one side is nice and tight, while the other is alright... There seems to be an issue amongst the reissue for the side chest pieces. Some have encountered that it's rather difficult to close the side chest piece against these red tabs, or you just can't even close them. Unfortunately, my figure is one of them, but on one side. It does close but you have to push the red tab together. People have said they fixed it by sanding down the afflicted red tab so that the side chest piece has clearance. Guess you can't have it all. Aside from those flaws, he is a must have to add to your G1 collection and is the difinitive Ultra Magnus for the mainline figures! ... show more

  • 👍
My 10 year old wanted this for his birthday, he has been collecting transformers for years. He plays with is daily and can transform it on his own. Colors and quality are great.

  • Worth the buy
It's good, it's on par with the Masterpiece version but in CHUG scale. It's entirely worth it for the car carrier mode. The transformation is easy enough to pull off without detaching the trailer cab. It's the single unit transformation separate from the Siege/Kingdom with the inner body frame.
