    • Another G1 Homerun! Keep it coming Hasbro/Takara!
I am very biased for the original franchise. Not the recent "modern" take by IDW and RS. Just the good old, error filled inconsistent Sunbow 1984 to 1987 show. The Takara/Toei's G1 version has its own consistency fumbles but that's part of its charm too! Nope! Not reviewing the show but the figure the original movie/series was meant to sell. Iirc, counting the original G1 Cyclonus, there has been like OG, Targetmaster version, henkei/classics, TR/UW and Kingdom. Not including the 1980s versions having 3 versions inspired by him reveals a lot of the character's staying power to the fans. All have been stellar releases ( with TR/UW kind of a so so average ruined by the combiner feature no one wanted). And this latest could be called a non Studio Series/MPlite version of Galvatron's most loyal henchman. Pricewise, you get not only a bargain but a figure chockfull of features! Scale wise? Check! Anime accuracy? Like he just walked out of the cartoon! The face sculpt and body structure is just freaking spot on down to the last animation detail. Colors spot on too! Paint apps? To a fault accurate! Heck, if the PVC/ABS/POM materials used were that from the MP series instead of the mainsline releases, I'd not be able to tell the difference. Hb/Takara even included retractable landing gears! Is that not awesome or what? Sure he comes with just his corrosive blacklight muskett (sparse?), because, well, that's what he carried in the orinal cartoon (You do get accuracy right?). Also, another great improvement is Hb ditching the plastic shell for the cardboard one. I really hated the former because it secures the figures so much that it actually damages the figures once you try to remove them for playtime (as if Hb doesn't want you to play with them no?) This is one highly recommended purchase to expand your G1 TF nostalgia fix if you ever needed one! ... show more

    • My 7-year-old grandson loves it
I bought this for my grandson who is 7 and he love it. The quality and intricacy of which this is made is incredible. He quickly picked up on all of the steps it took to transform it and must have transformed it back and forth 30 times which staying overnight with us. I did have to slightly loosed a couple screws to get it to transform in a couple spots as it was way to tight but that was minor. I think this will last him for a long long time. ... show more

This figure is great, he's much bigger than I though he would be and looks amazing. I personally would have preferred a darker purple but his colors are very charming. The transformation is fun and looks just as great as his robot mode. The ankle pivot he has is hard to get a hang of because his legs kind of close around it and limit it, but this figure is amazing! He has some nice light piping in his eyes, good articulation, and is absolutely stunning. The only faults I find in the design is the three weird numbs on his right shoulder, right leg, and left hip, I have no idea what these are for or if they serve some purpose that I don't know of and why they would be there when he could have had a smooth torso. But I still love the figure and am so happy to have Cyclonus in my collection. I will say however to beware the packaging! He arrived at my door in an amazon bag that only had this box in it, no padding, no nothing. Only the box he comes in, in a bag. I'm glad Cyclonus wasn't damaged but I feel that with the packaging he very likely could have been. The first image shows the condition of the box which had multiple rips and dents in it that were not there from me retrieving the figure. I think I got lucky but I worry for other peoples figures, and I worry if they are the type who care about a pristine box... ... show more

Cyclonus is just an awesome toy. Cool as a robot and as a plane. Plus, as my kids note, if you turn his head around he looks like a cat. Also if light shines from the back his eyes glow. So cool.

    • Faithful Recreation of Iconic Character
Pros: Solid construction, intuitive transformation, poses decently well, large size for a voyager Cons: Very tight joints, not very show accurate, arms are limited in range, not many paint apps in robot mode A great modern interpretation of Cyclonus. Face isn't quite right and cockpit is facing wrong direction in robot mode but designers did the best with what they had. Tightness of joints can give children trouble. Can still hold poses very well. Among kingdom voyagers it is the best ... show more

I was super excited to pick this figure up, and was stoked when I finally had the money to get it. I received the figure, and right out the box it was floppy and loose and terrible. I doubt this was the seller because the box was sealed, but it's still a shame. A sad return

I never owned the original G1 Cyclonus figure, but always thought he was one of the cooler designs in that line, although his toy didn't quite match up to the cartoon version. This one does, though, and it's a perfect translation of the cartoon character with an involved-but-not-too-complex transformation. Some of the joints on mine are a bit tight which made some of the transformation difficult, while some were just a little loose for my taste, but overall I'm ecstatic at the quality of this, which is, in my opinion, on par with the Masterpiece line, just a little smaller. Extremely well designed and well made. This is a figure I waited almost 35 years for. Over the years, I'd looked at a few excellent (and expensive) 3rd party versions, but this one lacks nothing, and is much more affordable.
