  • This will carry your spare, but with questionable overnight security.
Color: Black
This is a well-built steel carrier, which enables you to carry your trailer spare tire on the trailer tongue, versus inside the car or trailer. This comes with everything you need (and then extra washers) to install. You need to pay close attention to the installation instructions as to which way the bolts attach in order to increase the chances of someone NOT simply unbolting this mount in order to steal your spare. This mount even comes with a small padlock that prevents removing one attaching lug nut ( and spare tire ) off of the mount. I feel this type of security will guard against petty theft, like when stopped at a gas station, but I would not trust this little padlock on an overnight stop, like while at your hotel. It is a very small padlock that could be cut off. I deducted one star for 2 reasons. The first is as I said, this will guard only against petty theft. The second is how poorly this carrier is packaged. They went through the trouble of powder coating the steel weldments, and then did not take appropriate measures to insure there was not shipping damage, as you can see the chipped-off coating in my attached pictures. Now I need to touchup where all the chips are in order to try and ward-off rust. And my touchup paint will not be as effective as the original intact powder coating. ... show more

  • Fits practically all wheels, 4, 5, or 6 lug
Color: Black
This spare tire holder has a nice textured powdercoat finish. Mine arrived with some of the powdercoat already knocked off. Maybe the MFR could add a piece of paper between the powdercoated components so they will handle the beats and bangs of shipping. The welds are well done. There is a gusset welded in, too, to add strength. All the necessary hardware is in the box, along with some stuffbI don't need. There are 3 carriage bolts, nylock nuts, and washers to attach the wheel to the bracket. There are also 3 lock washers that are not needed with the nylock nuts. There are also 4 carriage bolts, nylock nuts, and washers to mount the bracket to the trailer. These also came with 4 lock washers, which are not needed with the nylock nuts. The only tools I needed are a ratchet and 2 sockets plus 1 wrench.. If you prefer metric, then it takes a 17mm wrench and a 17 & 19mm deep sockets. If you prefer SAE then it takes a 11/16 wrench and a 11/16 & 3/4 deep sockets. Installation is simple and straightforward. Instructions are included but not necessary. ... show more

  • Had to use many of my own parts.
Color: Black
Many of the parts did not fit. Washers and lock rings were too small. Also that bolt with the lock hole in it looked like a good idea. Problem was it was not threaded all the way like the other two bolts. It held the tire to loose and I had to use 3 washers to make it work. I have a low RV bumper so now I only have about 8 inch’s of road clearance. It should have more rise so look for that when you shop. Other problem is I just about broke my back getting the tire on. It is very awkward to do. I would not buy this again but it does hold the tire securely with 3 bolts. DO NOT BUY any tire carrier that has that rectangle to hold the tire in the middle. It will bend eventually and the bolt will loosen up. My tire fell off on the Chicago Turnpike in rush-hour. The only thing that saved a accident was I had a cable lock on the tire. This is not a good buy do to parts and for my RV it sits to low. ... show more

  • Ok but not heavy duty.
Color: Black
I have a smaller utility trailer that I was hoping to add a spare tire to. It took a bit of engineering to get it to mount on the side as seen in my picture. This carrier is designed to work with a tubular construction so you have flat surfaces on each side. I had to improvise with 2” x 2” angle iron to get it to work. It is ok but definitely not a heavy duty build. The material is a bit thin to call it that. The locking feature is a good idea but the lock is probably the cheapest thing available. I chose not to use it in fear of it rusting shut and needing bolt cutters to get the wheel off. Not like it’s going to get a lot of use. It will probably do the job efficiently and it is fairly easy to install on a tubular area. I can only give it 4🌟’s due to its minimal build quality and useless lock. ... show more

  • Versatile and sturdy spare tire mount
Color: Black
This mounts easily on your trailer and will make your spare secure. The steel used is thick and able. All the necessary hardware is included with your purchase. Nylon nuts are provided for added security. I did notice some minor black paint flaking but it doesn’t affect the ability to secure your tire. I feel this is a good value and worth the price. 5 stars. ... show more

  • Solid and well made.
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. A very sturdy well made product. It comes with four long bolts with nuts and washers to mount onto the trailer frame and three shorter bolts with nuts and washers to attach the wheel and tire onto the mount. I found the four mounting bolts to be too long for my application so I cut them off to meet my needs. The three bolts made to mount the wheel and tire on the rack are just the right size with one of the bolts having a hole in it to place the padlock that they also provide for you so you can lock the tire on the mount. My only issue is they designed the tire mounting bolts to be placed in from behind the tire making it difficult to hold the wheel and tire up while then trying to put the bolts in through the mounting hole from the back. I deducted one star for this. The powder coating is thin and there are a few areas on the mount where bare metal shows through so I painted everything so to prevent rust from setting in. ... show more

  • Great fit
Color: Black
Much better than carrying the spare tire around whenever I take the boat out. Pretty universal.
