some have mentioned the wheel bearings. They are supposed to have resistance it helps a new skater starting out. If your kid is flying around skating like an Olympic speed skater then these skate are not for them. If they are just learning, they are perfect!!!

These are padded great and have a very durable shell all around. My son is 7 and wears a 3.5 shoe size and the smallest size setting was just right for him so he will be able to wear these for a long time. My only concern is that the wheels do not spin freely on their own out of the box, which I guess is fine if he’s just starting to learn. Reading some of the other reviews, the bearings are not as easy to change out as it may seem, so we may not get as much use out of these in the future as we may have expected. For the price they are decent, but I was definitely disappointed solely for that reason. Will have to see how they hold up as he gets more comfortable using them. ... show more

I purchased these for my daughter's birthday, and she absolutely loves them! They adjust in size with a simple push of a button, so that she's able to adjust them easily herself. They are packaged neatly in a large shoe type box for easy wrapping. The wheels glide easily, and they lock on easily with a flip of a switch. These are a must have for any child who has the desire to skate, or wants to learn how. This was such a great choice! Very reasonable price. Much much better, and higher quality than I expected!
