My son had a lot of fun with this. The darts are a bit painful but not as bad as many other toys like this and not as bad as I was expecting. The blaster looks modern and realistic for the most part. The flashlight piece works and looks really cool and so does the laser sight. It shoots and reloads just fine, we didn't have any trouble. My son had some trouble but he is very young and struggles shooting most toys because he is so little. It comes with a lot of accessories and bullets and is well made. It has some heaviness to it but my son especially likes that about this toy. It was a huge hit and I recommend for a typical kid who loves to play battle games.

Alright, let me start by saying this thing is actually really cool once you figure it out — but getting to that point felt like assembling IKEA furniture with instructions written in invisible ink. Right out of the box, I was greeted by several baggies full of screws and mystery parts, plus a tiny tube of grease. Grease for what, exactly? Who knows. The included "instructions" barely scratch the surface, and it took me a good 30+ minutes of staring at the tiny text to even realize that you're supposed to REMOVE the grey top rail that's pre-installed and replace it with the white ribbed looking one using the screws provided already installed. (Spoiler alert: the guy in the Amazon listing video does NOT mention this step. He just keeps saying how it “feels good in the hand” — which, fair, it does — but come on dude, throw us a bone.) Anyway, my husband jumped the gun (pun 100% intended) and loaded one of the clips with 12 darts (they come in packs of 12, so reasonable assumption, esp since the clip was able to hold all 12), completely missing the faint little “8” molded onto the clip. Cue: instant jam. And guess what? The instructions offer zero advice on how to clear a jam. So that was fun. 😑 Once we got the jammed darts out (they were folded like sad little foam tacos), and I finally got everything assembled — laser sight, flashlight, and all — the thing started to shine. It’s got good weight to it, shoots with decent power, and the flashlight is legit bright. The red dot sight isn’t a projecting laser, just a glowing LED, but it still looks cool, especially in the dark. That said, it’s still possible to accidentally cock it twice and jam it all over again. Ask me how I know. (Actually, don’t.) So yeah — once you puzzle it all together like a soft foam version of “Escape Room: Nerf Edition,” it’s a ton of fun. But man, they really need to redo that instruction sheet and that Amazon video. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) Would I recommend it? Yes, if you're patient and like a little DIY challenge with your foam blaster fun. Just keep the manual, a magnifying glass, and maybe a cup of coffee (or whiskey) handy.

Made for a super funny introduction for a family gathering when everyone asked what type of firearm was brought. Plenty of smiles and giggles and pranks aside, it did work quite well! Did not expect the light or the rounds to be as effective in firing as they ended up being. For the kids who are not quite ready to try the real deal, this is a most excellent item given the size, appearance, weight, and simplicity. Great value!

Cool toy idea that fails in its execution. Solidly built for a toy, but small kids will not be able to or will have a crazy hard time just racking the slide to load a round. If you load it like the picture says in the directions and only put the number of foam darts/pellets as shown on the side of the mag, it seems to cycle fine without jamming. Its quite large, so smaller kids will need to use both hands just to properly wield the thing. Assembly is easy enough, but I have real things that go bang, so moving/attaching rails and accessories isn't a big deal for me (I'm not sure what the front rail is even for since the red dot is installed on the rear small rail anyways...) The biggest issue is the value is way off, it would need to be 25% (or more) less than the current asking price (8/25) to make sense for most. (this 37 year old with ADHD has a blast, but I would recommend it for more like 12+ not 8+)
